Girls, how do you view the act of a guy walking with you on the street side of the sidewalk?

this is this interesting custom where if a car happens to lose control the guy can protect you by getting hit instead of you. It’s impractical sure lol but a lot of guys still practice this on dates. How would you view this action ladies? You’re outside walking at night down a sidewalk and he makes sure he’s always on the outer part closer to the street.

Men are natural protectors, they may be tough and strong on the outside, but on the inside they're sensitive cuties. I honestly wouldn't mind if a guy were to do that for me, however I'd rather both of us didn't have to get hurt if necessary. ^^;

They normally do to be honest I've never really questioned it I guess it's quite chivalrous although in reality we'd both get wiped out
