How long should I give it before asking a girl out after she broke up with her boyfriend?

There is this girl who i like and i think she likes me, We've been talking back and forth for 3 months, today she was very mad and i asked why and she said she was very certain her boyfriend was cheating on her and they were going to talk today. Based on her actions and words i believe she does like me. How long would i have to wait before expressing my feelings towards her? She's been in a relationship with this guy for 4 years.

There's no exact "time" that's going to apply to this.

It's going to depend very much on how she feels about the breakup with her boyfriend (assuming that's going to happen).

So if she seems to be not overly upset, and just has a "fuck you then, have a nice life, I don't need you and your bullshit anyway" view about it. Then... really you can start 'manovering' right away, and make an overt move within a week or two.

But more likely, if this is a 4 year relationship... she'll need a bit of time before she's looking to get involved with anyone else.

You really have to just read her specific signs depending on where she's coming from. You need to use your best judgement. You definintely want to be there as a friend for her. But hold off on trying to make it anything more, until she seems to be waving you in pretty obviously.

Just don't choose to be oblivious to how she's feeling in your (understandable) excitement to make something happen now that she's single. Be her friend, and just stay conscious of how she's feeling, and you'll be alright. You'll know how long you should give THIS girl in this situation by-feel.

I appreciate it a lot. Thanks for the very detailed response. So she did tell me this guy is manipulative and she is sure she is being cheated on. I will be there for her as a friend, but she doesn't seem to have remorse for this guy from the way she spoke about him. I will see. I will be talking again to her on Monday
