+1 yWomen do not need to “chase” men but they could do a lot better job at taking initiative. Especially nowadays considering what modern feminism has done to guys.
It is NOT “desperate” to:
- approach a guy you like and start a friendly conversation with him
- make eye contact and smile
- ask if he would like to get coffee or something
- laugh at his corny jokes even if he isn’t funny.
Most guys can take a hint. Especially if they are older. It’s also very low risk of having a guy thinking he can quickly jump your bones if you do this in a safe public setting (not at a party or club). This is NOT desperate behavior. If the guy likes you too it removes guesswork which is something guys very badly need nowadays.
The worst that happen is the guy takes the hint but doesn’t respond to your behavior. It’s a subtle form of rejection but so what? It’s no big deal. It’s not like you randomly asked him to propose to you or something.
Just a warning though. He might be suspicious that you are trying to make someone else jealous and/or recently got rejected and want attention for the sake of ego. There really are horrible POS women out there who do this bullshit (it’s happened to me) Never ever do that to an innocent man.

@Pohjolan even if the guy doesn’t “get it” right away her being friendly doesn’t hurt at all. If he likes her too that will make him more comfortable to make a move.
It’s extremely adolescent how adult women sometimes completely “clam up” and get overly self conscious when they are around a man they like. Men are generally much more forgiving if a girl is nervous when they approach. But since women are generally more judgmental of nervous guys who approach them they think we judge them the same way. Most guys don’t judge that way. - +1 y

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yNope, and they wouldn't have to if they didn't meddle in the way things were at gyms and with approaching in general.
It's not as simple as approaching either. As a man, chasing who we like wasn't something that happened over night. We needed to develop the skills, intuition, experience, understanding and the confidence to do so. All of which are much more natural to the gender known for hunting, fighting and taking more risks. When women chase, they have no idea how to do it and it doesn't fit who they are, or who they think they are.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI always laugh when I see these women say women shouldn't pursue men because they have tried it and been rejected X number of times. Do you know how many times men get rejected? Can you imagine if guys thought like that and gave up on pursuing women because they've been rejected? The human race would have gone extinct long ago.
Ladies, it's time to get over your cowardice and entitlement and take some initiative. In recent years men are even more afraid to do it, but unlike you, we have valid reasons to be afraid. If you like a guy and don't do anything about it, you'll never know if he might have been your soulmate.

+1 yIt's not a matter of should, it is just in women's nature to go after the men that trigger their attraction. They always do that. Any man who has received attention or had a woman interested in them will tell you now that if she is into you, you can't get rid of her without a lot of effort to turn her off.
00 Reply 1.7K opinions shared on Dating topic. Well they will all chase the same guy and he will treat you like trash. Because he can pick and choose. If you had the maturity to choose a better outcome. Instead of the most attractive and popular guy. Which actually match who you can get to commit to you. Unless you are the most attractive and feminine girl around and even then he will probably end up cheating because of all other girls attempts.
00 ReplyI don't know about chase, but on average, women tend to choose better men, when they aren't waiting for men to choose them. So its actually in women's best interest to shoot their shot more often.

+1 yAll my relationships have been women coming after me XD then again I've been single most my 20's (the rest were school days) only had 1 girlfriend in my 20's, but that girlfriend and the one's before came after me XD I prefer you come to me instead of me coming to you. I have no idea how to chase a girl XD
so to answer your question, yes I think women should chase after us. XD
00 ReplyChase? No.
Look for and interact with men they like? Yes. No one else should be telling someone who they should like or date.
10 Reply1.4K opinions shared on Dating topic. they can if they want to though if they were all encouraged to do the chasing there'd be hard evidence of the 80/20 rule

+1 yI'd say yes. I've seen with my own eyes that a lot of other guys can't read body language well and will totally miss signs of both interest and disinterest. I can't imagine any guy having a problem with it at least.
00 ReplyNot "chase" but show more clear interest in, yes. Sometimes guys get nervous, too.

+1 yNo. They shouldn't "chase.". They should be direct and say exactly what they want up front. Then there will be no need for chasing.

+1 yyes but plan on rejection. maybe not chase, but engage and present.
10 Reply 3.3K opinions shared on Dating topic. Don't they already do these things? They swipe right on who they like, the follow who they like, message who they like, reply who they like, and generally engage with who they like.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yNo. The last thing we need is for women to start approaching men and then making false accusations because they got rejected.
If he likes you enough, he'll take the risk on his own initiative.

+1 yAlways felt like that. It would make it a lot easier for me if a woman pursued instead of me trying to figure out if anyone will be interested in me.

+1 yChase who you like but be content in your choices. You women chose chads and a career in your 20s and it didn't work out. You don't get to then turn around and shame men for not dating you.

Women give signs she's interested in the man and the man takes it from there.
