    Nope. Not worth it.

    1. They wouldn't have as much time for their partner when the relationship is new.

    2. More expenses that aren't my fault.

    3. Behavior issues. (Kid may not want to listen to my rules because I am not their real father even though they are in MY house.)

    4. I won't date someone in contact with any ex.

    5. She is likely irresponsible or bad at making Important life decisions.

    6. If I got attached to the kid and the relationship didn't work out I have no rights to it.

Probably not likely but it depends on purposes. Never having time for me and bank rolling the child does boy sound like a pleasant reality

In the past I have. I never got serious with any of them. Some of them were in real great shape.

Ultimately as a single man there are too many pitfalls of dating a single mom vs reward. For starters you are not her no1 priority, which is probablamatic if you don't have kids yourself and you want to go out somewhere on a Friday or Saturday might or a week away, even just fooling around. They expect you to act financially responsible for their kid but that's it, you can't discipline the kid as you ain't the daddy and if the kid doesn't like you then your life is not worth living. Then there's dealing with the baby daddy, he might be an angry asshole or which is a real red flag for dating a single mom may be a decent guy that she cheated on, dumped and is vindictive keeping away from his kids for maximum child support and pure evilness, this is a warning as you could be this guy in the future. Women who acted bad in past relationships pull out all the stops to vilify an ex.

Some of these single mom's have such high standards when dating, they don't realise that having that kid lowers their stock, they won't lower the bar. So they will date a long line of men they consider high quality that have no intention of ever getting serious.

I used to think not bc I don’t want the pressure but now I think if he is my age and esp if the kid is very young- would be awkward if the kid wasn’t too much younger- then yeah I think so esp if the kid lives with him…Dads who love their kids are pretty attractive. in my opinion

This is a strong question with a lot of factors that come in to play. I hope I never have to make this decision, and I hope my husband doesn't either. The children must come in to play as do your feelings and acceptance of their children (and vice versa) as well as -acceptance of the parent.

If you're a man and you can accept that you'll ALWAYS be a distant #2 in her life, presuming she's a good mother, then go for it. If you're a woman dating a single dad, there's a better chance for a real bond later in life when the child is out of the house.

I suppose, but only if she's a widow. A lot of single moms that I know made a choice to be with a deadbeat, had a child with them, and then he moved on to the next one. A lot of them are like my mom that ask for the boyfriend to discipline a child that's not theirs. I'm not going to deal with that crap.

Depends. One one extreme we have the faithful, self-sufficient widow and on the other we have the never-married welfare mother of four or more from multiple guys. The former is probably "Yes." The latter is a "No." Those in between depend upon the specifics.
