Is it great being a trades man?

I have to say I enjoy being a trades man because you get to travel and it gets you out of the house so that your girlfriend misses you so much she literally rapes you at the front door. You make good money but you also come across some past old faces of past co-workers. Like Zack he just tapped me on the shoulder and had just arrived. gOOD TIMES.

Yes. The trades are so overlooked. Having a skilled trade guarantees you will always have a job, making good money. I work a mid-upper level job with an oil company but I am a trained welder, and have a commercial drivers license. If I were to lose my job could get a decent job in a day or two.

You will never regret learning a trade, even if you just use it as a hobby or way to help family and friends.

Both are good trades. I miss welding more than driving. There is something addictive about joining metal.

The trades are where it's at. I want to try and get a two year degree in instrumentation. The electronics part is pretty hard, but they get paid a lot.

@MuskratLove if you have a HS diploma you can join the Navy and get free training and free travel all over the world. The time goes by really fast. Trust me. They have a position called Instrumentman (IM) you should check into it

I think I'd rather just go to a tech college. I know a guy who works at an aluminum plant. Him and his buddy spend 90% of their time cooking. They put hot coals in metal five gallon buckets, and they have grills on top. They make corn on the cob, baked potatoes, baked beans, salmon, steak, shrimp and just about anything else you can think of. With the other 10% of the time, they take turns reading gauges and recording the numbers. They pull down 6 figure incomes for eating. lol
