A good sense of self, knows who he is and what he wants in life, emotionally mature and knows how to manage how he feels, has a job, a place to live that’s not his parents house (unless for a legitimate reason), financial stability, is no longer in his “party boy” phase - not spending every weekend drinking or doing drugs, understands how to effectively communicate and be an equal in a relationship - doesn’t count on me to act like his mother, has some sort of social life whether that’s friends or hobbies outside of his house, and takes care of himself in terms of hygiene and basic needs.
