Should I believe my boyfriend?

my boyfriend and I were eating and he got a text from a unknown number saying “ I know where you at where’s my money “. I wasn’t near him so I’m not sure if it was a unknown number and what exactly was said on that text but when I told him what it was he said , a random number text him and he was quick to Delete it. It made me feel uncomfortable because he delete it right away and he gets defensive when I asked him if he sure it wasn’t for him.

Well... no you're boyfriend is clearly not being honest with you here.

If this weren't a genuine "I'm gonna come get my money if you don't get it to me now" text... why would your boyfriend delete the number? What would he possibly have to be defensive about?

If this were a wrong number or his buddy fucking around or something... he would laugh it off ALONG with you.

But this is very clearly the actions of a guy who received that text and took it quite seriously. And did not want you to know anything about it.

Usually I wouldn't try and call someone a liar knowing so very little about a situation. But this is just so clear and unmistakable that... I can't help it. That dudes full of shit for sure!

When I asked him are you sure it wasn’t for you he said “ No it was a random number , wrong number I don’t owe anyone money “ but then I asked him so why delete the message so fast. Weird huh or am I over thinking.

trust is the bedrock of a relationship, however, there is also space for personal stuff for each partner. Maybe he owes someone money that's all, and he is embarrassed to talk about it, but as they say, trust but keep your eyes open, tell him he can tell u anything and you will support him no matter what, that way when or if he is in a pressure situation, he might confide in you. But certainly, its a red flag when a person will not be open. But first give him a little space.

Yeah but think is he told me “ is a wrong number and said the only people I owe money is..” and he mentioned 2 of his friends. He went far and delete the message and went to his recent delete and delete it again. Wouldn’t you have just left it alone?
