Back in October I had gotten a text message from a friend explaining how a girl had told her she slept with my boyfriend. We have been together for 2 years and ever since this came out I am having a hard time believing him. He denies that he had anything to do with her. When this came out she had this happened in October when he was at his friends and when I confronted her she said it happened in April. She also was dating my boyfriend’s best friend. They were together before and after this so called relationship. I do not know what to believe. This girl had changed the story multiple times and told her boyfriend how funny this was. I don’t want to think he did this and I am not sure what to do. Help!!

The timing of all this sounds like something I was going through, which is funny because you're so much younger. Just goes to show you: Players will play... meanwhile, some girls will say whatever they have to to plant the seeds of doubt in your mind and make you back away from your guy. After all, if you can't trust him you won't want to be with him, right? Then he'll be "fair game." Classic gaslighting.

If her story has changed that's the red flag not to believe her. However it doesn't mean that NOTHING happened, so you do have to make sure that your guy is being straight with you. Clear communication is essential to navigate past this.

I found this menage a trois somewhat difficult to follow.

If a girl tells me a story i. e. a lie, my standard technique is to outwardly accept it but then, maybe a week later refer back to it. I find liars who have invented a story can't help themselves from enhancing it whereas someone who is telling the truth just repeats the truth. A liar has difficulty keeping the story straight after a week but a truther just has to recall.

It sounds as though the girl is not keeping the story straight so I would be fairly convinced she is lying.
