Was I wrong on my date? The guy I went out with said I was would you guys tell me what you think?

To make a long story short I went out on a first date. I drove myself and met him there. We had a great dinner and great conversation. After the dinner I used the tablet at the tablet to pay my half. I told him that I enjoyed the meal and that I would talk to him later. Then I left. He called me later that night in fact it was almost midnight and said that he thought we had a good time but my actions said something different.

He mentioned that he was going to pay for dinner but I didn't give him the chance too he was upset that I left him sitting at the table, and he was upset that I didn't let him walk me to my car, I really didn't think anything I did was wrong. I have only been talking to him for about two weeks, my sister in law was playing matchmaker, so I didn't want him to know what kind of car I drive. And paying for myself I thought was a good thing, so I don't understand why he made a big deal about those things;

What do you guys think am I wrong? Is he just making a big deal about nothing?

If I was him I'd have thought the same thing. The difference being I wouldn't have contacted you afterwards. That's how horrible it sounds too me.

Someone who was attracted to him would have dam near insisted he walk them to their car because what about the big bag robber who wants her purse and her virtue. haha. You'd want the date to get prolonged.

No but seriously. You sound very divested. I don't smell any vibing going on here and I think he's picking that up as if coming over the loud speaker.

Two weeks of communication leading up to a date is far too long. Then after such a long build up you avoid the end of the date cutting it as short of possible.

Which would suggest to me a complete lack of comfort and interest.

I didn't think about it that way. I really didn't think I cut the date short. It was over and I was ready to leave the restaurant. But I am trying to see it from a different perspective.

Honestly I can see it either way. The most important thing is that you should do what you are comfortable with, and if he does not see things the same way, maybe you should not be together. I will say though that those things he mentioned would prob. bug a lot of guys, and the fact that you don't want him to know what kind of car you drive after the date makes me wonder if there was much of a connection. JMO being honest!

You gave him conflicting things. Great dinner and good conversation, then you got up and left. In his view, did you enjoy the date? Do you like him? He can't figure that out.

It's usually best, and vet common, to leave the restaurant together. Try doing that next time.

I would have thought you weren’t interested in me. I would have thought wow she is a bitch. Everything you just did said I don’t like you in that way. By you leaving like that it just gives the idea that you’re not interested. Someone who is interested would most likely want the person to walk them to their car, to spend more time together also to make sure she makes it to her car safely.

Speaking from experience, when a girl splits the bill on her own accord it usually means she's no longer sees you as date-able.

Guys usually like to pay unless the girl was an entitled b. He probably felt you were being cold by paying your half and leaving alone.

No, i mean it would be my pleasure and make me feel good to treat a girl to a date UNLESS she was acting like it's my job and she wasn't having a good time. Then I'd probably pay but there wouldn't be a second date. Your case was just a misunderstanding. You didn't want to seem entitled, but men most men actually feel like men when they pay. Kind of like how women like being approached and feel less feminine if they're making the moves. As for walking out alone, I would have liked to leave together. Leaving the table alone seems detached. You seem like you were concerned with your safety talking about him not wanting to know about your car and leaving alone. Maybe subconscious concern.

Ok. I understand what you are saying. Yes it was a safety issue for me that was my first time going out with him. And previously I had only met him briefly when I picked my sister in law up from work. So I feel like I still really don't know him which is why I felt more comfortable keeping him distance when I arrived and left.
