Do you think I did anything wrong on this date?

I met this lady off a Facebook singles group, and we went bowling, then walked around the mall and chatted. We hugged at first meeting, then when we said goodbye. We didn't kiss, or hold hands, or anything, as I prefer to play it slow at first. She messaged me saying she didn't feel any romantic spark and doesn't want to date again. I told her I appreciated her being honest, and that I prefer to play things slow. She does too, but she normally feels some romantic spark at first. I felt a tiny bit, but I don't believe in love at first sight, or first meeting, as this can take time to develop. Is there anything I did that you believe I should've done differently? Not trying to blame myself, as I don't have any regrets with how it went. I know some people do kiss on first dates, or even have sex, but I'm just not like that.

Only thing I can think of is that she didn't find me to be that attractive or something. Not trying to put myself down, I don't do that anymore. But if I'm not what she wants, then so be it.

'didn't feel any romantic spark' = no initial physical attraction. She was probably in a hurry so I would guess she was around 35 years old. Also since you take it slow you wouldn't have been building up much attraction. Ironically the guys trying to get into her pants would be the ones she'd go on a second date with...

I know for a fact that not all women are like that. This one could've been, but who else knows for sure. She did say she likes to play it slow as well, so it is tough to gauge if she was like that herself. One friend of mine, the one I dated almost 3 years ago, also mentioned she could've been seeing another guy as well that she liked over me, and that very well could be the case. Regardless, this is how I am and how I function. If she doesn't want me for me, then that's her loss, not mine.

I thought more about your answer, and maybe I will try it next time I go on a date. Worst case scenario, it's just another one and done. My approach of playing it slow and building up the passion may have worked in a different era, but I guess these days, women may want quick hookups just as much as men do

I really didn't think so. I did date one other lady kinda like that a few years ago, but she actually gave it some time. She told me she didn't feel any magic with me.

I've gone on solo dates with many other women. Honestly, it's rare these days someone goes on more than 1 with me. I guess I just keep meeting those kinds of women...
