Infatuation knows no age and if a teenager crushes or is infatuated in an older person, that means most likely that this person is looking for a father/mother figure rather than someone to be intimate with.

It could be because that teenager did not have such figure at home, be it because the parents were always absent or that these children were raised by a single parent. It is quite common to look for an person with a greater age difference as a substitute parent for someone they did not have growing up.

But also, a crush is more likely developed by younger people rather than older ones. A 13 year old would have a crush while a 30 year old not so much.

Finding others attractive and thinking in some parallel universe with no consequences and nice marathon might be interesting for a second and NOT dwelling on it no problem. Obsessive thoughts are a problem.

Maybe. It’s definitely normal to find others attractive. That doesn’t mean you love them any less. What’s important is staying committed to your partner despite things like finding others attractive.
