sounds like he was trying to be funny, but it just sounds dumb to me.
Kind of like a bad pickup line.
You hear it but if you have to stand there and think about it, it didn't work and you kind of end up with a blank stare on your face.
After further review, about 3 times I read it, is an online date playing video games better or would you rather meet in person?
I'm really not sure about the second part, but I also think his grasp on the English language is not that great, so maybe he is from another country?

Secondly, I believe that he's saying that he's not comfortable with sexual innuendos via texting or understands them well. I believe he's not good with them, as you could see from his final sentence. Plus, you should ask him about using punctuation properly, as in using commas.
