I feel like I've been burned so many times I just don't feel like touching the stove top again.
3.2K opinions shared on Dating topic. Sometimes it’s good to take a break from dating and focus on yourself , and try to figure out what is best for you , to help you play your cards right if you ever decide to start dating again , I had my heart shit on as well and I didn’t date for a long time after that , I lost trust and respect in girls and went through a faze of holding walls up to protect myself from having my heart shit on again, I learned not to rush into relationships anymore , that it’s best to take things slow with someone new , because most people are just infatuated with each other when they first meet someone new and not really looking at the big picture. why I prefer FWB’s these days with some strings attached , to give each other breathing room and to see if we really are compatible with each other then just assuming we are , Most girls I have gave my heart to turned around and shit on it and took me for granted once they got bored and the infatuation faded away and we realized we really didn’t have much in common , the only thing we had in common was the sex lol so it’s best to take things slow with someone and truly get to know them before making the big commitment, Most people think they want love and commitment with someone and then when they get it they change their minds because they feel like they are missing out on shit and don’t grasp what it means to be in a committed relationship they don’t understand boundaries , their selfishness shines and then they start to do what’s best for them and not considering their partner’s feelings they just do what is best for them, for a relationship to survive and for love to grow both partner’s need to make each other their top priority , wear each others shoes before making decisions and remove selfishness for each other and understand you can’t always get your way , when you learn to remove your inner selfishness for your partner they will be able to remove it for you , but if you only do what is best for you be prepared for that relationship to come to an end , stour partner needs to be your top priority over anyone , if they aren’t your top priority then you will not be theirs

+1 yI’m 18 and I have no interest in dating anyone at the moment. I probably won’t date anyone until I’m around 22-23, which is when I’ll finish my undergraduate course.
It just sounds like you’ve had too many shitty experiences. You should be careful in whom you choose to date. Try increasing your level of standards and maybe you’ll see a difference.00 Reply

u +1 yI was interested in dating up to age 65, when I met the girl who is now my fiancée. To lose interest at age 30 may be a sign of depression.

+1 yIf you don’t feel like doing something. Then don’t…. It’s that simple. You’re not required to date

+1 yNo it's not weird. It means you're tired of games, wasting your time and temporarily (just a boyfriend/girlfriend) people that come and go; nothing lasting.
If I were dating, you ready to assume I'm looking for a lifetime commitment, not a temporarily trial period nor ''lets move in together to see how it all works'' style. I'm taking a break from looking and don't care if I'm not in my 20's anymore. I have no obligation towards anyone at this moment. A boyfriend isn't a family.

**If I were dating, be ready to assume
631 opinions shared on Dating topic. I feel you 100%. I'm 33 and I'm not saying that I lost interest all together but I definitely lost the thrust in relationships that will actually work out in the end. It sucks to feel I have failed in the dating area and to risk growing up without children and a wife but I also realise Im far from alone that are stuck in the exact same situation so there is still a little bit of hope left and I'm not the one to blame but I feel that society is causing this so it's not my fault. Society is just wrotten to the core and online dating ruined a lot aswell for me

+1 yno, not at all. Just don't wait too long. When you get to my age, meeting people is obsolete. Hmm, maybe I'll get a puppy! But no, I understand. When my ex broke off our wedding, I said NEVER again!
Loneliness is the only thing that sucks in the equation.

+1 yI'm 29. I'll be 30 in 2024 and i am so glad to still be a virgin and I'll be quite happy to remain so into the future past 30 , because I actually feel like you sort of do, sort of, of being content and oblivious to dating. I'm quite happy as I am.
After all, in some ways, I'd rather have spent fun times in university and my 20s then settle for less in my 30s or . Lol.01 Reply- +1 y

+1 yWhat is the common thread in these so many times failures? I'm worried by your having a list of failed relationships. Could your picker be off? Have you seen a life coach or other counseling pro about this?
I want you to succeed in these relationships because it's clear you want to HAVE a love relationship, but something or things aren't working out right. Good luck.00 Reply - 626 opinions shared on Dating topic.
+1 yNot really
As soon as I got off my ass and started pursuing my dreams, I quickly realized I don't have time for a girlfriend! It's incredible how unimportant a relationship becomes when you're driven towards something greater and focused on pursuing your passion.
Now I just have to break the news to my girlfriend...00 Reply

But to be honest I have lost all hope for me to find the ONE, I just will settle and go back to my shitty ex because the grass ain't greener out here, people are even shittier than my he is..03 Reply- +1 y

@TheThingALing And when did I say anything like I am perfect? I never did... My point is guys are just looking for hookups but I don't want that.. so I might as well go back to the one who loves me the most lol

"The One" doesn't exist. There are only people who can live with our deficiencies / quirks and those whose shortcomings we can tolerate too.

+1 yNo if you have experienced a lot of shitty situations in relationships it's perfectly normal to not be interested in pursuing anything. Though it's definitely something you should work through incase you want a relationship in the future
10 Reply I have been in this situation before.
There are personal issues that I didn't or refuse to overcome and learn from it.
You need to understand your true self, know what you really want in your life, overcome and face all the problems that you hide deep in you.
00 ReplyIf you have no interest in that then it's not weird but if you are scared to meet someone new then that's not healthy for your mental peace.
It's understandable that you might want to refrain from meeting new people because of bad results in the past but don't let it stop you from doing something you wanted earlier.00 ReplyNo. That's usually where people end up if they remain ignorant and never learn how to have a lasting relationship. Get pro help or focus on something else.

+1 yThis is a textbook example of a woman who has been so ran through that she has lost her ability to pair-bond. To the younger women here: you don't want to end up like this as it's cold out on these streets.
