Is it preferable to wear makeup on a first date ?

Wear the makeup that you normally wear. Be you. The genuine you. You're not going to prom, or a ball, or an awards ceremony. (Unless you are 😯) just wear what you normally do.

Right. I got that. That's what I'm saying: you are you without makeup. That's good. Just be you (no makeup or just your lip gloss) for this first date. On a later date or a really upscale event, then you could add some other makeup.

I'd rather they didn't, because that way I get to see what they really look like. Makeup to me seems like false advertising; you're not seeing what's actually there, the product may have defects, but they've been covered up by globs of plaster.
