What food should you never order on a first date?

On a first date, it's generally a good idea to choose foods that are easy to eat, not overly messy, and unlikely to cause discomfort or awkwardness. While personal preferences may vary, here are some types of food that you might want to avoid ordering on a first date:
1. Foods with Strong Odors: Avoid ordering dishes that have strong and lingering odors, such as certain types of seafood, heavily spiced dishes, or foods with pungent ingredients like garlic or onions. These odors can be overpowering and may make your dining experience and conversation less enjoyable.
2. Messy or Difficult-to-Eat Foods: Foods that require a lot of effort to eat or have a high potential for creating a mess can be challenging on a first date. Spaghetti, ribs, messy burgers, or excessively saucy dishes can be awkward to handle and may cause anxiety about making a mess or appearing less composed.
3. Risky or Exotic Foods: Avoid ordering foods that might have a high risk of causing allergies, digestive issues, or have an acquired taste. This includes dishes with uncommon or exotic ingredients, overly spicy foods, or foods that are known to be challenging for some people to digest.
4. Foods that Require Excessive Noises: Stay away from dishes that are known for making loud or unpleasant noises when eaten, such as slurping noodles or crunching on extremely crispy foods. These noises can be distracting or off-putting to your date.
5. Overly Expensive Foods: While it's important to enjoy your meal, ordering excessively expensive items might send the wrong message or make your date uncomfortable. It's considerate to choose reasonably priced options that align with the overall ambiance and expectations of the venue.
Remember that the focus of a first date is typically on getting to know each other and enjoying good conversation. Opting for foods that are easy to eat and won't cause distractions can help create a more relaxed and enjoyable experience. Ultimately, it's always a good idea to consider your date's preferences and dietary restrictions when making your food choices.
Anything with a gravy or sauce that can splatter and get on your shirt or blouse. Anything that will get stuck in your teeth. Anything that you need to pick up and eat, like fried chicken.
And, of course, girls shouldn't eat dessert because their date will automatically assume they are a cow! (Just kidding. I always encourage a date to order a dessert or to share one with me.)
For a first date, it's probably best to avoid "adventurous" foods, to you. Like, if you don't or have never eaten spicy food, or a different type of cuisine then you are used to, don't make your first attempt on the first date because you don't know how it will agree with you. Some people react very poorly to certain foods and the last thing you want to have is a bad time on a first date or get sick.
Never go to a bbq place! So in my case ribs! It’s just weird to eat and try and have a conversation. It sucks because I love ribs, but that’s for a date down the road.

Lobster, too much money, or oysters, or nachos, too fatty.
Anything that will give you diarrhea 😂
For guys spicy finger food. The last thing I want is a chilli powder finger afterwards
Some funny shit there!
Hot dogs for women. Obvious reasons. And it'll be worse if she puts mayo on the end before eating it. Then there's fish. So who wants a fishy breath kiss after the date? Also, McDonald's for obvious reasons and Taco Bell so you don't fight over the toilet.
I dont even eat anything other than fries on any date 🤣 I’m the too shy to eat type. I’ll nibble on the same one fry. But yea i wouldn't eat pizza, spaghetti or anything sloppy on a first date
If he orders salad or anything with ranch, lettuce, fish, milk, alcohol, honey mustard, pickles, mayo, or a vinegary smell... the date will be ruined for me lmao
Anything that's very strong smelling, the other person either might not like it, or, it'll just be too... much smell. Lol. Or distracting 😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️
Or very messy food, it might be off-putting also 🤢🤮 lol 😆
Anything that will bloat you if you're planning on havibg sex later or that will make you fart 😅
Also anything that would make you sweat.
I'm taking it that everyone who said anything that has a pungent smell kiss on first dates?
Nothing overly expensive or fancy, and nothing that stinks. A relatively casual atmosphere, but not fast food or a dive either.
Anything that smells bad like onions. Not good for a first kiss. Also eating anything that's messy would be a no no. Like pasta or chicken wings.
Chile, it's one deadly food that gives you gas, along with garlic bread... bad combination!! Lol. 😁😁
Anything with loads of garlic, onion, or ginger. Makes breath smell. And not too spicy. Not so sexy when we're sweating and blowing our nose.
Nothing to Sloppy or Spicy. xx
Anything that is too difficult too eat, or gives a bad breath or makes you gassy, or anything that is overly expensive.
Casu martzu. Or on a second date. Or any other date.
I'm ordering Fajita, Pico de Gallo, side of Guacamole, Habanero sauce and fries to share. WITH a roasted garlic and rosemary mayo side dip. Haters gonna hate when I wrap up my fries into la tortilla.
Beans, they make be good for your heart but the more you eat the more you fart.
I would say foods such as garlic, sausages, onions, or anything that's stinky.
I enjoy a proper Mexican establishment, but TacoBell is a definite no on my list.
@MissTinaP aiight yeah I don't completely disagree with you on that point. A proper date at Olive Garden tho... that's guaranteed to impress, right?
Anything gassy.
You figure it out.
I still haven't.
Lol.
Anything garlicky! Snogging someone who’s eaten garlic tastes and smells horrible.
Anything you want, but if you're not going to pay half, don't be an ass and order expensive stuff.
I have heard garlic is not a great choice, but i would lay off the curry and anything too spicy.
Don't get anything that will give you gas or bad breath
None! Go on a walk and talk. But if you dine don't order ribs. Gets stuck in your teeth, bbq sauce all over the mouth region. Only took me 3 dates to provide this kind of top notch advice ;)
Do not order anything too saucy unless you're not a messy eater.
Something get that's stuck between your teeth. And of course something you don't even want to eat :p
Who knows. Who cares. I eat everything.
Although I am lactose intolerant. 😂 Yeah.. maybe not icecreams and milk stuff.
Pizza, too cheap, I don't want to show a girl I'm cheap.
Probably anything that could give you a hard time in the bathroom later lol
I never do dinner for a first or second date. I need to see some interest and effort first
Nothing heavy, keep it casual. More than likely you'll be consuming plenty of beverages.
I'm not kissing or bedding on a first date so I will eat whatever sounds good.
Ah see, thats a good test though. Order something and see if they're still interested afterwards.
The spiciest of the spicy Indian or Mexican food
Food wið lots of onions, garlic, durian, or anyþing else wið a strong odour. Fast food.
Salad? Avoid garlic and onion. Anything with pungent smell and big hunk things that gets stucked between teeth and bother and make us look ugly.
Do not order foods that make you fart a bit later on, and do not order food that gives you bad breath.
Vegan subtitutes, and they should not be ordered in the future either.
Oysters, some people even gagged just by looking at it
Anything with garlic. nasty breath is a turn off.
