Do you think its a good idea to start keeping track of how much both you and your partner spend on dates knowing how cheap they are?

Just making sure both of you are spending an equal amount of money as often as you can and no one is taking advantage of one another

I'd avoid that. It's a yellow flag that needs evaluated for current and future stressors. Question is what's going on.

Keeping lists isn't great, but we all can do that time to time... not just money, but "I cleaned up all week, etc..".

It's more so for me to remember who paid last time for a certain thing. My partner and I payment method is that if one person paid for one thing last time, the other person pays for the next one. For example, if he paid for dinner last time, I pay for dinner the next etc. Is that still a bad thing?

it may be to some people. you'd need to track amount as well yes? it's kinda a control/fairness/trust/vulnerability thing. What's at the core of this... fairness, being cheated before? If the root energy is negative, then it's bad, otherwise, it's a control which seems ok.
we don't do that here, but everyone is different. I don't see any married couple I know doing that...
