Why is this hard? Maybe your expectations are too high too early in a relationship. When we first met people we trust them with small things, asked gradually learn to trust them more.

We don't have to be suspicious because if they break our trust we haven't lost anything of great value... usually just a bit of our time.

What I often see on GAG are questions from people who invest too much at the beginning of a relationship and are then disappointed. This is not healthy. Instead, keep expectations low when you first met someone. You may be pleasantly surprised but won't be greatly disappointed.

Define intent. And then Define it again. If you don't trust someone you don't trust their intent or ability.

You can improve your communication by ridding of what impedes communication.

Try setting up a meeting that has rules around it.

My teachers said this, "meaning is in people , not in words."

You have to be open and be honest. The first time one if you tells a lie. It's the beginning of the end. Just a mater of time. If there is a problem some where fix it with calmness and care no reason. To get Loud about it ever

Trust comes with time and overview, ie hard to trust a person you rarely see. Ie most of their life is hidden. Communication is important but actions is key, because they reveal the true state.

Straightforward and honest is a good start for effective communication. Also active listening helps.
