I did online dating in 2007-2008, 2015, 2017, and 2019. I found several long term relationships as a result. I am now engaged to a lady who I met online; without dating sites, I never would have met her.

Yes I am. Most (not all) guys I’ve encountered only want sex or a sexual favor. However, like everything else, online dating has its pros and cons. Many people met their spouse that way so it’s definitely good in that regard. You just have to filter out all the weirdos and you encounter decent people. 😌

I don't think it's about being desperate. Maybe in some but not most cases. Some people are very shy or too busy with work to have the time to look for someone in real life. I know one happy couple that met on Tinder, it's a serious relationship. I am not a native speaker by the way.
