I think second or third date is a good time to hint at what what your sexual personality is/or if you're into anything in particular.

A soft launch for a guy could be suggesting " a few times a week" or "how he's insatiable" or he likes being called "daddy" etc.

I think directly asking for sex should be after other areas of intimacy have been crossed, hugs, comfortable kissing, light petting.
