At the end of the day, it depends on what your goals are. If you don't mind dating outside of your race, then yes being white makes a difference because judging by the pool white people are the majority and white women (majority women) prefer white men (majority men) on average, so that's where most of their numbers are coming from. Asian women also seem to have an obsession with white dudes. Black and Latina women on average prefer their own men over white men, so the men wouldn't notice a difference if they stuck to their own race.
Being a Black man, it doesn't really bother me to be honest. I stay within my community and have no plans of dating out. To me it's about building and improving what's available in the hopes that the next generation of my community will have a better life compared to today.
If you ask other Black men, the average answer is that they don't find "dating" hard. Where they really struggle is in marriage. If you're a Black man, you're seen as a "niche" category, aka automatically categorized into "only hook up and nothing serious". It also doesn't help that most of the women are drawn to us for all the wrong reasons, and you hear some cringe statements like "I'm blacker than you" and "no way you don't listen to *insert famous rapper*". The stereotype often goes that Blacks can only get fat girls, but that one was probably cope since Bill Gate's daughter isn't fat. Regardless of that, even if the girl is attractive there's usually something that's wrong with her personality and if you're a Black man who's trying to build your life up and turn into someone respected, chances are you will find a hard time finding a woman (Black or another race) that matches your values. Modern women in general are mostly lost, but it certainly doesn't help when you're a man that's hypersexualized and you don't control your image, you end up mostly attracting 304s. Black men are the least married men because they don't propose enough, and considering what we have to put up with I absolutely see why that's the case.

Race has nothing to do with it every single individual will have their preferences but you can't truly know what is in people's minds and hearts. I think people just have personal experiences and grasp onto them like they are the norm. I've heard this White lady admit she specifically sought out a Black husband because she wanted her children to be a beautiful shade of brown and not white. I heard a Black lady say she wanted a guy with Blue eyes so she could pass it on to their children. Could I use these instances and now base them on what all White and Black ladies think sure is that a good idea no.
Because I have seen much evidence to the contrary White couples, Black Couples, Black guy with Latina lady, Asian guy with White lady, White guy with Asian lady, etc, etc, but I have seen and know of plenty White guys who aren't able to get as many dates or are lonely. But, ultimately people shouldn't obsess on race I never even considered these aspects for the majority of my life I treated people by following the golden rule. Go out and be the best version of you and don't covet your neighbor's money, success or whatever else focus on doing your best foster a mind and body of strength and perseverance.
But, you mentioned a detail that I think is important you mention accounts. So I assume you mean like dating profiles (how do you know who swiped on other profiles?). But, key point online dating is stacked against Men in many ways. A guy could send hundreds to hundreds of messages but never get a response while Women are almost always guaranteed to find some success on dating apps with less effort and messages. It's sort of like submitting your resume without being able to try out in person on an interview. But, a guy can have many great qualities but if he is a 7 or an 8 out of 10 even if he is the best of those numbers many women forgo that if there is a 9 or 10 showing interest in them even if they have red flags about them.
Some after being burned or with better sense on their shoulders learn to catch these warning signs and give those 7 to 8 guys a chance and end up in much better quality longer lasting relationships. But, point is if you are seeking women online they aren't passing men up due to White privilege they pass a lot of guys up because online dating is a huge uphill battle for the majority of men. Hope this insight helps.
And final fact before I leave something like White privilege that isn't even real in the first place couldn't be the actual problem.
White privilege is a real thing and many non-Western cultures have "white worship" so deeply embedded in culture due to colonialism and the survival minded nature of the older (often colonized) generation.
But it's starting to shift, I think.
At least for me, I'm just not interested in whites anymore. Mixed is acceptable if they're not white washed or colonially minded.
To me, it's exhausting dating white people. They are often so out of touch with simple things like multicultural traditions or even just other cultural norms.
Having to explain that an Indian coworker being at a village wedding for a week is normal to a 30 yo white woman is just... Disappointing. And again, exhausting because it's nearly every cultural thing that you have to explain to them - and half the time, they'll react with shock or repulsion that something is different to their sheltered experience.
Being a PoC and queer, it's just not worth the exhaustion to consider dating white people. Especially not cishet whites.

This is unfortunately true as a non-White immigrant to the West. For both genders white fetishizing is rampant. I see a lot of immigrants like me just fawning for white girls. I was dating a brown guy last year, after our breakup he asked out this white-passing latina girl and she rejected him but I got to know about it because the girl happens to be my friend.
I personally find it a red flag when guys talk about white girls like objects. Especially when they try to pull the bullshit with me that white girls are just fantasy and wild in bed but they aren't wife material unlike brown girls, I don't want anything to do with such men. They disgust me.
I've probably never dated a white guy but I've encountered men of other races since moving to the West and I'm personally open and indifferent about the race/ethnicity of my man. On dating sites it is very real, yes. In real life, I'm honestly not too sure, but online it's real. The reason for this is because many, many people put white men and women on a pedestal as being the most attractive people, the best partners, or the people they feel they would look the best with aesthetically as a couple, and it really doesn't matter what race does this.
Black men idolize white women online (and real life), Asian women most definitely fetishize white men just as much as white men fetishize them, Latino men also glorify white women a lot, Latinas can too with white men but I see that less often, Indian men are super crazy about white women, and of course even with each other whites tend to place themselves as the highest standard for dating. White men highly prefer their own women and feel they are the most beautiful, and white women on dating sites tend to extremely prefer white men, to the point of being downright nasty to you if you're black or something else non-white, that's just how hungry they are for white men. But the Asian women on dating sites have also been that way from my experience.
I don't know what it's entirely like in real life, it seems to be more diverse, but not sure. I think online dating allows people to feel very choosy and staunch about wanting whites, and it shows you just how people really are as well.

My brother doesn’t have a lot of success in online dating, even tho he is white, because he isn’t conventionally attractive and he is short (5’5). My three closest friends are different ethnic backgrounds (black, white, and Asian) and have had a LOT more success with it. One found a relationship that way, one in RL, and the other is still looking due to being picky. All conventionally attractive but they’re also women.
My boyfriend is Asian and he has never dated within his own race (only Cambodian women were related to him). His biggest obstacle dating was his height (5’4) but he still had success (he got me 😉 I might be the luckier one tho) I’ve primarily dated white men/within my race, with a few exceptions, because the area I am from is not diverse and I always just went for whomever I was compatible with regardless of background
I mean the American beauty standard for men often describes a Caucasian-ish man, so you're not wrong in that respect. That said, I think personal taste and the misalignment between societal standards and actual common opinion make this a bit more complicated. For a example, I personally do probably describe something similar to the standard American beauty standard if asked what "my type" is, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't date/generally appreciate the appearance of people of other races/ethnicities from my "ideal". As far as I'm concerned, there are physically beautiful people of all colors and I think a lot of people think similarly in reality.
