Blacks are often looked down upon by a lot of races and whites are looked at as top of beauty with many races worshipping/envy them low key. The result of this is that a lot of people may hide their relationship/interest of wanting to date a black person but proudly show off their white partner to the world on social media.

A good example of this can be seen with NBA players who often ditch their long time black partner and get a white woman when they make it big in the NBA.

Now, given that at a young age, children are bombarded with the message that "White is beautiful and blackness is ugly", do you think that the a large percentage of people who pursue white people as romantic partners have an inferiority complex?

A black person needing to be a professional athlete in order to PROVE that he is of equal social standings in order to win the affection of an average white women actual supports this. It shows that the white woman being white, she already has innate social value assigned just based off her race alone, while the black man needs to prove he has value by upward social mobility in society.

That's an optimistic way of looking at it but when we look at the whole picture of things its not due to wanting to expand their racial option.

1. In western society and media, white people are often stereotyped as being the ideal standard of beauty. It's seen in magazine, tv, movies etc.

2. From the video above with the dolls, we see this constant bombardment make children see white people as the ideal mate to get with which is why in dating responses/preference, the vast majority of racial groups all have a positive response to white skin except for black women. While in the same instance we see negative response to dark skin people.

3. In western countries at least we see 47% of Asian women cohabit with white males. If dating outside one race was to expand ones dating option then we would have more even spread with that of other races.

4. Colonization and whites still holding prominent positions in society will impact people in viewing said race as better than them which in turn can lead to an inferiority complex and one wanting approval of said race via dating/marrying into them.

5. Many parents actual encourage their children to date only specific races. For example in r/Asian many users have claimed that their parents are urging them to marry a white person to give them happa children. While claiming they will disown them if they bring him a black. Even on here a female Asian user has brought up that many cultures dislike dark skin. In Indian culture, its actually reinforced to look at dark skin as ugly and white skin as beautiful. Many Indian actresses of dark complexion are actual discriminated for roles because they have darker skin. All of this seeps into peoples decision in picking partners.
