Well I'm going out for dinner today and haven't got a clue what to wear

I learned the opposite to get this to work between my partner and I.
When we first started date nights, he pulled on the stops to make sure his outfits went in theme with mine.
Now we do the opposite. We state the activity/event. Then coordinate attire based on that.

One time, I went out with a flow skirt and fancy top and he came into the car with flip flops and khaki pants 🤣 we were going to a concert.

Yes, sometimes, for the most part he wears "business casual" and that is fine for a lot of situations, but for special cases actually I will sometimes lay out clothes for him to wear. We are engaged and comfortable w each other it's not like we've been dating a month and I am laying out his clothes lol.

Generally, you want to think about where you're going, and the weather. If it's cold and snowy out, like it is here, in the latter part of the year, you'll want to put some warmer clothes on

She asks what level of dress is the function. Shorts or jeans or evening gowns. Etc.

Sometimes but he is very organized and like to plan ahead. I think setting clothes out the night before can be helpful especially if you know you’re on a time limit

I in return, have very occasionally asked him.
