He won’t let me check his phone, why?

A guy I’ve been sleeping with refuses to let me see his phone. We used to be serious with each other but he no longer takes me serious and all we do is have sex. When ever I’m at his house I randomly grab his phone sometimes. He’s okay with me holding it but won’t let me see it when it’s unlocked. I don’t care what’s on it because we aren’t dating and I’m just curious. He says he doesn’t let anyone see his phone.
What gets me is that he is on other people phones. He used to go through my best friend messages and dms before we met. And I let him see my messages when he asked.

Yes, they're no part of our physical body. But they're so personal that I dare say, asking to see its content is like an acquaintance asking (pardon my expression) to see our butt hole.

Personally, it's a violation of privacy. And by reading other replies, many felt as I do.

Hence, in asmuch as we no longer ask our dates about their past sexual encounters, we don't ask to see their phone contents.

PS: of course some may feel otherwise. But I'm writing my personal view and some whom I think share the same opinion.

A phone belongs to the individual. It is a violation if their right to privacy for someone to access it without permission.

I don't let anyone check my phone. It's not about secretly cheating, I have conversations with friends which are very personal and between us. I would be very upset at my friends if they are letting their partners potentially see our conversations. Boys talk. I'm sure you girls have girls talk bitching about you partner you don't want him to read.
People take selfies of themselves they want no-one else to see. Maybe you do dance videos and are embarrassed anyone seeing them. Don't just assume cheating it sounds like you are paranoid. I don't even think to look at my partners phone, nor rummaging through her bag
