No. They are either woke or trying hard to appear woke. They're basically using a slur created by trans activists against themselves to make trans people feel better. I would find no common ground with her, so I wouldn't date her.
Yes, and actually I would prefer to date someone who is more conscientious and inclusive of minority groups, which is what a person identifying themselves as cis-gender is typically doing.
It's a simple and easy way of letting transfolk (and others) know you are an ally, that it's okay to declare your gender, and that gender assumptions aren't always correct.
I would never assume that saying you are "cis" IDs you as an ally of trans folk. News to me. And I don't feel the need to ID myself as anything on first meeting someone. If I'm on a date with a presumptive man and I'm a woman, I would guess heterosexuality seems the case.
By the second or third date if we liked each other, I suppose I'd make sure. But why bother if you never get past a first date. Doesn't matter if you DO self ID as a goat if the other person isn't interested in you, goat or not.
@Screenwriter I mean @zeitgeist057 is right, more times or not people use Cis, as means of showing support to trans people. See for trans, cis has real meaning, but that is because they are the one with the mental illness. It's like saying that if you believe in ghosts and that you see dead people, then cis would just mean you are real man and person, not a ghost acting like a man or person. So as @zeitgeist057 is saying is true, if you walked up on someone that sees ghosts, it would be nice to let them know you are not a real ghost, you are a real man and person.
But the problem is this, if you feel like you have to identify yourself as cis, it would mean that you really believe that there are people that can really see and talk to ghosts. And well all know that talking to the dead, has been scam of conmen and charlatans for centuries.
So when I met someone that feels the need to make the point to use cis... I am like yeah, weirdo... I just met you and I am thinking it might not work out.

However, I have to correct your explanation about cis/trans:
Trans people also have no choice. A trans woman was born with a female brain/mind in a male body. Put yourself in their shoes. This is a nightmare and no one would “choose” such a life. When a society further discriminates against such people, life becomes hell for trans people. This is also a reason why the suicide rate among trans people is so high.
You are correct I would not ever want to live with a mental disorder. But since I do not have one, I would never expect how I feel about myself to interfere with anyone else's life, or how they choose to live it. So, putting CIS out their kind of like that infringes on how I want to live my life. Like I was born in world were trans, or cis did not exist. I was happy with that, so yeah, I get it that people want to be happy, and I want them to be happy.
But I as a man, if I believed I was goat... I would not expect anyone else to believe I am a goat, unless I had a mental disorder then that might seem reasonable to me. So, in that way I guess I can understand how must be for people to have to live in an alternate reality. I guess it is sad.
But you also make a good point, anyone that calls themselves CIS is definitely not a hard-core conservative, so that is a good thing. But at the same time, I cannot imagine anyone, but a bleeding heart liberate to use CIS. And I as a moderate fine it difficult to except. Using CIS kind of puts it all on the other person to go along with it, even when they might feel it's kind of a bunch of BS. Like I have to accept your view of the world, and you are putting CIS on me, before I can even get to know you first as person.

Right, I agree about the prejiuce factor against homosexuals and the like... but that is because there was underlying understand that it's not exactly the way the world turns... so live your life how you want to, but do not put on me in anyway. So, if we meet and the first thing, we talk is about is gay rights, I am put off. It's not something that really affects me directly, and it's not a something I want to deal with regularly.

To put is simply, yes. Some people, especially women, and because they are more agreeable than men, pick up social trends and lingo. But it's not always because she subscribes to a subset of radical politics, but just because its trendy and cool. So no, it would not completely turn me off.

I heard Elon banned the term, and people were furious with him. So I looked into it, and figured out why he banned it. People (like myself) just thought that "cis" meant straight or heterosexual. But if that was the case, then why not just call us straight or heterosexual?
