Note I don’t mind it honestly and it’s usually when I’m being naughty haha but I’m curious is there a reason for the term specifically? He’s a year older then me.

Maybe he thinks "baby" or "honey" or other terms of endearment are cliche, and that one has a little more class and is less used? Maybe he just likes calling you "young" because it adds to his idea of dating a younger woman! LOL Just a guess.
