Is it a bad idea to date an ex who left to try and save me from her mental problems?

I used to date a girl who had mental issues as she called them. I wanted to help at all costs but she never wanted to put me through it. She said that if she ever got better she would want to give us another try. I don't know what to do because she has been getting better rapidly, but at the same time is it a good idea to date an ex?

Dating an ex is always a tricky situation. On one hand, you've got history with this girl and obviously still care about her. And it's awesome that she's working on her mental health issues.

But there's also a reason you guys broke up before. Mental health problems can definitely strain a relationship, even if she's dealing with them better now. There's a chance things could fall back into the same dynamics that didn't work before.

I'd say be really careful about getting back together right away. Maybe start by just hanging out as friends and see how that goes without any pressure or commitments. Make sure she's really in a healthy place now mentally. Watch out for any red flags popping up again.

And you have to think about if YOU'RE ready to take that risk too. Dating an ex brings baggage no matter what. Are you 100% over the past stuff? Do you still have some worries or doubts?

If you're both feeling good after taking it slow, then maybe give it another shot. But just go in with open eyes - don't ignore any signs that the issues might come back. Your well-being matters too dude. Only you can decide if it's worth it, but don't dive back in too fast.

I think so, because if you got along with her well enough to have a relationship before, it's usually worth trying again, if you know where you went wrong.

Don’t trust it my friend, mental illness is something you don’t want to deal with in a relationship unless you want to lose your mind as well, I don’t care how beautiful she is to your eyes and how sweet she is talking to you , Run the other way my man because mental illness is no joke , it will be a matter of time before she goes off the deep end again and you will be her punching bag and blamed for everything, The best thing I did for myself was getting away from my mentally ill wife that suffered a lot of shit that medication could barely handle , it just got worse and worse , there is no fixing mental illness ,
