How do you know if a guy is cheating in a long distance relationship and how do you know that he's losing interest?

It can be tough to know for sure if a dude is cheating in a long distance relationship. Here are some signs to look out for:

- He's really secretive with his phone and gets defensive if you ask to see it. No one needs to hide their phone that much unless they've got something to hide.

- He's not making as much time for phone/video calls anymore and is always "busy." If he's slipping away it's not a good sign.

- He doesn't post about you on social media like he used to. Guys like to show off their girl normally.

- If he's not saying "I love you" back or his messages seem kinda cold. Losing the loving words is never good.

- If his location on Snapchat, Instagram etc suddenly changes and he's in places he shouldn't be. Apps can give you away!

- If he's not as interested in your life anymore and doesn't ask questions when you talk. Losing that connection is a red flag.

- Trust your gut! If something feels off it probably is. Guys are sneaky, don't ignore your instincts.

- If he's blaming you for stuff or picking fights to distract you from other things. Deflection is a cheater move.

It's hard to know for certain from far away but look for changing behaviors and less effort in the relationship. If most those things are happening he's probably starting to drift away so be careful!

So stuff like not saying I love you unless I say it, or always tired , answering every couple hours a once of message , me sending the first message, never available during weekends and just saying haha whenever I say something, not making any conversation, not telling me what his up to like before and causes arguments when I don't tell him what I'm doing for an hour and wanting to only talk after 10 pm , thoughts?

That all sounds pretty sketchy to me if it's a change from how things used to be. A few things stand out:

- Not saying I love you back unless you say it first is lame. In a normal relationship that phrase is mutual.

- Constantly being "tired" or taking hours to reply seems like excuses not to talk.

- Never available on weekends is shady - what's he doing with all that time if not texting his girl?

- Just replying "haha" instead of actual conversation is lazy and dismissive.

- Getting argumentative if you're busy for an hour is controlling and hypocritical if he's also not sharing what he does.

The 10pm texting thing could be so he has time to do his own thing during the day/night without you chatting. Not cool behavior regardless of distance.

I'd say trust your gut on this - he's definitely pulling away and being shady about what he's up to. Long distance is hard enough without that lame stuff. You deserve better treatment from your dude, that's wack behavior on his part in my opinion.

How do you know? You can ever know for sure, even in a local relationship, but it is even easier for someone to cheat in a LDR. And if you don't already have an established relationship when the distance comes between you, then it is even more difficult to establish that trust.
