Is it a bad sign that I enter relationships based upon how easily I can extricate myself from them, i. e., lives across town, no mutual friends, etc?

If I am interested in someone, I always have an "escape" plan in the back of my head. I will choose not to show interest if I think the relationship may cause gossip. Also, that I don't have any other connections to them so I can completely disappear from them if it doesn't work out.

Is there a name for this?

You really shouldn't have to worry about how to get out of the relationship if it's not good for you. I think it would be better to focus on the person of interest and not have some sort of plan in the back of your mind i've had to get out of the relationship.

I was sort of like that too. I would never date somebody from work or from the gym. If it went sideways I would have to find a new place to workout.
