Why does he want me to meet only him?

We met through a dating app. After the first date, he spontaneously invited me over for Christmas because he wasn't back in the States this time, and I hadn't heard much from him for a while.

But he wrote to me that he wanted to see me again. There was a bit of discussion because I already had plans. The last time I was there - we saw each other twice - he said that he didn't want me to meet other men or have sex. But he also said that he would leave Germany again next year or in three years because he didn't like it here and he was too alone. In other words, I asked, it would be a temporary contact between us.

The man is about 15 years older than me. He wants me exclusively. But when he's gone, I'll start from scratch again and start a new search for a partner for a relationship. I don't understand why he wants to put me through this if he likes me. He said he liked me and still missed me. I don't understand it.

Thanks. Yes - "I like you" and "I miss you" is normally a good start. And if you don't see often then you need time to go to the next step. We have meet twice so far and I guess it needs time to get to know and fall in love. But that he goes back was unexpected... When he is sad in Germany - okay. But it is hard not to hope that he will change his mind. That is it. Women hope, the man will change. And men hope, the woman don't change... They both are wrong...
