I've been friends with this guy since we were in college. We were both in relationships at the time but we kinda had abit of crush on each other but we pretended to ourselves we were just really close friends and we'd say we were like sister and brother to each other.
We are both very shy people who aren't good with feelings and emotions. Are just very alike and understand each other so well. When were together we don't even have to talk we can just tell how the other is feeling or thinking.
You could say we've been having a emotional affair on and off. All of his girlfriends have hated me which i understand as they always feel like they can't compete with me. I'm alway that awkward female best friend who we all known deep down has feelings for their boyfriend.
I've always respected his relationships and tried to distance myself away from him when he's been with a girl but as soon as he meets a girl he's texting me late at night, asking me to come out etc.
When he's been single he'll say he needs time alone and will go on traveling or something so I don't get to see him.
Then recently we went a music festival together with some friends of ours. It was late at night and we were walking back to are tents. He was a little drunk and kept putting his arm around me. He tried to kiss me but the smell of beer and him being drunk was a massive ich so I pushes him off me.
He quickly snapped out of it and said he was sorry, I said it was fine and to just go bed.
The next morning he wouldn't talk to me and just kept glaring at me. Once we were alone he confronted me and he said how hard it was for him to open up about how he feels about us and that's why he tried it on with me when he was drunk and that he was deeply sorry. I said to him but I'd be willing to give it a chance if he was serious but he said he was scared but if he messed up are friendship he'd lose me forever.
I kinda got frustrated with him and he got upset now he's going out with a new girl
