why not try an actual dating site, one where you pay to join if you are serious about finding someone.
It helps keep out a lot of guys who are just looking to get laid, and the vast majority of the people are doing the something, looking for someone special.
It's just lunch has gotten good reviews, I met my wife on eHarmony.
With the It's just lunch there is a lot less pressure on a lunch date than say an evening date.
If it doesn't go well, you had a nice lunch and you have the rest of the day to do stuff.
If it seems to be working out well you have the rest of the day to continue to do stuff together.
On those types of dating sites you can set the parameters of things like age, what you are interested in etc, so if you want over 30 then you won't get hit on by someone in their 20s.

Older men won’t usually be at nightclubs or trendy hipsters bars. We like low-key places and want to hear other people around us talking. If you’re looking for a handsome salt and pepper man, we’re elusive lol.
Older men are creatures of habit, when I travel I will often go to the hotel bar and have a blended scotch before bed, I’ll sip it while I catch up on current events or prepare for the upcoming day. I would never say no to a woman showing interest in me, who knows maybe I’d buy you a drink.

I usually hang out with my mutual friends at home parties and barbecues and so forth, sometimes a cozy bar (not a rowdy one).

I have a female friend who actually found her husband playing golf. Lots of men my age play golf although I never got into it.

My wife and I used to think she's silly since she wasn't actually interested in golfing. She learned and started golfing at driving ranges with the primary purpose of meeting men. 😂 But it worked in her case; she found a very nice husband there eventually.

I tend to just stay at home all day. I don't drink and am allergic to cigarettes and can't stand that stink so, the only reason I'd go to a bar is if my band was playing there or if I knew they had a pool table that didn't cost a fortune and that I had easy access to.

Dive bars, golf clubs, speed dating events, concerts, ski slopes that's pretty much it.

Other than concerts, anywhere you can have a quiet conversation without too much going on at once.
