Girls, Is she putting me down easy?

I’ve been talking to this girl for two months. We hit it off immediately, lots in common, great chemistry, talking non stop through the day. Even her girlfriends know and like me, and I’ve never met them. It’s kind of long distant atm. Two weeks before Valentine’s Day she asks me to be her valentine, she gives me her address, without asking mind you. Send her flower's, she loves them, makes her day….. the following day she tell me she’s going though it and isn’t in the mood to chat…. We don’t speak on the weekend and she messages me on Monday saying

“I'm sorry I honestly am not sure what to say. I've been in my head lately and I know I owe you an explanation for going silent.

Pretty much I'm realizing I'm not over my divorce and not really ready to move on yet. If you want to be friends l'd love that but I honestly just don't have it in me for anything more right now”… then follows up saying it has nothing to do with me…. Is she putting me down easy or is she being genuine,

That sounds genuine to me. What it sounds like happened is she thought she was ready to get back out there and tried to. Then she realized she wasn't as ready as she thought she was and that's basically what happened. That's how I interpret the situation from what you wrote. I don't think there was anything malicious going on or she was using you. I think she genuinely thought this was the right move and once she got into it she realized it wasn't. If I were you I would be thankful she had some class about it and didn't string you along of fake feelings that weren't there. She told it to you straight.

Do you think she isn’t interested or is there a chance it could work out, further down the line?

I think it could further down the line. I don't see why she would indicate remaining friends and staying in touch if she had zero interest. I do really belive she thought she was ready and you were a good option. Then she found out she wasn't ready and can't commit to more because it wouldn't be fair to either of you.

We havnt spoken since then, I think giving her space is what I’m going for. Last thing she wants is like you said it string me along when she knows I’m interested. Thank you
