As a woman, I do not DM anyone simply because I am fully aware that unsolicited DMs from women can only mean one thing. She is looking for something or she is a loose person only interested in what I am not interested.

On the other hand, it is a big problem for women that get unsolicited DMs because we also know why we receive them from total strangers.

The fact that you placed your question under the "dating" topic illustrates very well that unsolicited DMs or text only mean one thing.

I have systematically rejected any request for DMs and I have also set my profile here on GaG to not accept any friends or followers, simply because I am aware of what those men want.
