They merged with a company that was all about profits. They removed all the engineers from the decision making they even moved their offices away so that no engineers could have any input. And then they just cut costs and lowered the quality and the safety standards the amount of personnel etc. All the good workers left after a while and now this is what is left.

Also they had a strong competitor in Airbus that put them in a bind and made them make even more greedy and reckless decisions. It's not a new story a lot of companies have been ruined by people who only care about money. But most of them are not in a business where peoples lives depend on the product they're making.

Man, I almost posted something about this.

Boeing used to be a flagship fortune 500 company and super-leading edge aerospace company. I haven't flown a Boeing product (except the 737-800 simulator), but have always believed Boeing made a superior product. If you talk with (older) pilots who have flown both Boeing and Airbus, they almost always say Boeing is a higher quality aircraft.

But in the last few years the failure of the Boeing space program (can't remember the name) purely due to software quality control, and the 737 MAX debacle, tells me some very negative changes have happened at Boeing.

Years ago, Boeing bought the failing McDonnell-Douglas, it's former American rival for making commercial aircraft.
But, for some idiot reason as part of the merger, Boeing's Board of Executives made McD-D's management have the top jobs! Well, those people fucked up McD-D because they were so focused on money and survival that they really weren't the right fit for Boeing's original culture of safety and thorough engineering. Thus, Boeing went downhill since the merger.
