I know a a bunch of people that have and there is nothing wrong with it , if you meet someone that has a lot of chemistry and connection with you , that’s all that really matters. If the both of you share a lot of the same interest and you both are honest with each other and both attracted to each other , then Go for it , Just be cautious when it comes to talking to people on the internet , because there is a lot of liars on the internet and a lot of people that pretend to be something they aren’t , catfishes and scammers , so as long as the person you are talking to you , is honest with you and can easily prove to you that they are being honest with you , then you really don’t have anything to worry about , if someone you are talking to hesitates to call you or video chat you , then they are more than likely bullshitting you , don’t fall for nonsense like that , Most catfishes will say their camera isn’t working on their phone , that’s a load of shit , even if they were actually telling you the truth , just straight out tell them you aren’t going to meet them until they get their phone fixed and you both can see each other Live before even attempting to go on a date with them. Someone that is honest with you, isn’t going to hesitate to prove to you that they are legit. Always remember that for your own safety.
It seems very rare in my experience but I have one friend who is rather socially reclusive and a technical writer for science journals by trade.
He's like the nerdiest of all nerds, wanting to talk about things like singularity and quantum physics at a TGIF while everyone else is drunk. We were buddies in Tokyo since I could entertain some of the topics of conversation being a STEM type (although quantum physics mostly goes over my head). Yet he always seemed largely unable to find friends who would match his enthusiasm in science and engineering, like I'm an engineer by trade but it's not exactly what I want to talk about at a bar in my spare time.
Finding a date for him seemed nearly hopeless at least among the crowds with whom we hung out. I could just imagine him wanting to talk about quantum physics on the first date the entire time.
Yet he finally managed to get a date and even married her later through a Japanese online dating site. I forgot the name of it but it was one for very serious people looking to marry, not just date. He found his ultra-nerdy match made in heaven there. His wife is just as nerdy as he is.
Never heard about it and I think people on dating site just wanna sleep around and waste time until they find something permanent to hold on too. I’ve been on dating site almost 7 years try to find love. No love there, only bunch or horny people and lust. They either looking for fun or looking for financial support or both.
I met somebody online while posting questions about religious topics. We later reconnected on a different website. I would say he makes me happy and is the classic nice guy multiplied by ten. Not a 6”6 stud but somebody who radiates kindness and respect.

Not me, I don't use dating apps, but yes someone close to me did.
I know several happily married couples who met on online dating apps/sites. My SO and I met online.
Yes, my close friend is pregnant with her child and is married to a man she met on Bumble.
Do you think you could ever find true love over the internet
On April 27, I will be married to a woman who I met on zoosk. com.
many of my clients have but it's getting far and few between with these apps.
Depends how you define "true love", but yeah...
I met my wife online. We dated for 10 months and have been married now for 2 years.
Others I know met each other on tinder. One has been married for 5 years and has a few childrens. Others been together for a long time.
So yes, true love exists using dating apps!
I found true love here on GAG before, she was my perfect soul mate and we had an amazing time dating/being in a relationship for 2 years. Also met up with her once in person once the lockdowns lifted in the UK and we could mutually visit. She was as amazing in person as she was online, but unfortunately she couldn't adapt back into the long distance after that and the lockdowns prevented me from visiting her to cure her lonelyness.
Its secretly the main reason I am still on this site, if my soulmate visited here before I am keeping the option open of that happening again.
How do u call it true love then? She can’t even adapt that you are away and far, if she’s your true love and love you no mater what. She won’t mind the distance. Love is beyond all that. I think it’s just a fling
@Mariena_Anne92 That is much easier said than done, it was exactly like that until it gradually but surely got so intense on her side she was completely in emotional pain from the lonelyness when the online relationship stopped fulfilling her needs. She needed me in person very badly, and stuck around for months with that pain just to find a way to make it work, but when we had tried everything we could to find a solution it was obvious I had to let her go for her sake. She's always welcome to come back as long as I am single, I still love her immensely. I know she loves me to, but she's now with someone local she also loves and to my knowledge she is happy with him. So now I am hoping to find someone new I can love to the fullest once again.
Love is bigger than being with someone u love 24/7 . She don’t need love then. She just needy and care about what she wants and what’s important to her. When i first met my boyfriend. He spend 3 days 3 at my house from our first meeting. Then we started dating, 5 months together most of the time because he's student and i have my own biz, work from home, then he had semester break, 2 months, our relationship still going well, we talk we chat. Now he finished study and going back for good. It’s been almost 7 months we didn’t see each other. Even with time differences, our relationship keep growing. And we actually communicate better, about what worrying us and all. Must be a lie if im not saying i don’t want him with me now. Since we know each other but rarely separate, always together. But love is beyond that. I just found myself loving him more and more. Didn’t know when we can see each other again but i will wait
@Mariena_Anne92 For us there were further reasons on her part I won't get in to since its not my place to share. But 7 months was easy for us to, it was at the 2 year mark that it became to much for her. In my case we were not from the same country, and it was not even sure I would ever be allowed in the US with the lockdown policies so she had no guarantee the relationship would ever work. Having that uncertainty for 2 years, including timezone differences is very hard and it eventually lead to a situation where she no longer was available in my timezone. So already missing me + the prospect of not even being able to talk to me anymore at all during the week was to much and we had no solution to avoid it.
My relationship might as well end up like yours. We not from the same country too. But despite the time differences and all, we try our best to make it work. Still nobody can predict future, anything can happen. I’ve been away with my ex husband for 5 years before. And found out he’s remarry and having kids in his country while im still waiting for him to be back. So yeah all i know if, if u truly love someone, u will wait for them doesn’t matter how long it takes, because u wanna be with them and them only. Not anyone else. That’s how i feel about love and that’s how love looks to me.
@Mariena_Anne92 The biggest part is that you still have a working plan forward. Our relationship was perfect until that was under threat. If we had found a way to continue i'd still have her. If the lockdown ended earlier i'd still have her. And if the third reason had been solved i'd probably also still have her. But 3 factors of uncertainty combined with an impossible deadline isn't doable. So whatever you do make sure that you two are able to keep visiting each other and have a realistic part to make it short distance.
Maybe " true love " is a stretch , but for me , I've certainly had some very long term relationships though dating apps , I believe it is far tougher now though , here for example you get every dam bar girl , freelance , massage girl , golf caddy on there and it just gets super confusing working though all the chaff.
I met my husband on a christian dating site, but I also prayed for him.
I think dating apps are great especially when you have niche requirements or likes (eg being a christian in a non-religious country).
One of my buddies. He went on a date with one girl but they didn't really hit it off. They both went on a couple dates with different people and then she called my buddy and realized she'd rather just date him. My buddy was thrilled because the other girl he met was a psychopath. Been married for almost 15 years now.
Never known of anyone finding it through Tinder - at least not that lasted more than a few hours.
But I know people who got married to people they met on eHarmony or Match. com or similar. Just like any relationships, some worked out, some not. But some kids owe their existence to them.
yes! one but rare. most of the people around me, and myself only found frustration in apps.
While I don't use dating apps or sites since I have no need for 'em, I have friends and relatives who have tried them but they're still in despair to this day.
No, but most of the people I know are still in their early 20’s/late teens (18-19) so we’re still figuring out who we are, let alone who we’re meant to be with.
No, and I have known many people over the years that have used them.
I believe my oldest sister did. That's how she met her husband and they've been married for years now, have 1 kid and 1 baby.
fpund my spulmate on instagram and prayed for it on the Divine Mercy Shrine. God answered but he is not someone i would want to be wiyj
Why not?🤔🤔🤔🤔
Yes, I know a few couples happily married through dating apps
Yeah. Some i know even end up marrying each other
I thought I did. But that was only a year long relationship that's been over since November
Someone to bang, yes. Love, nope.
Love is outside mutual teen love rather a rare thing.
I found true love in real life but my friend found it online
I only know 1 guy who claims to have met his girlfriend on a dating app. I honestly don’t believe it’ll last long.
My older cousin did. She said the relationship lasted for 2 years and it was fun. I have never had the need for a dating app fortunately
I know people who met and are still together. I don't know if I'd say "true love", but they're together.
On the precursor to them - a web page.
Been married 20 years now
A brother-in-law did. From the midwest, he found a lady in SC.
Everyone i met was stuck up. First and last mistake i ever made when trying to find someone was dating apps.
Doesn't even make sense to me how anyone meets in dating apps. I can never even find a match no matter how my likes I put out.
Hopefully It’s been a long time now since we met I hope it works
I have but I always see it as the exception to the role. Statistically it's highly unlikely.
No, I hear stories too but I don't know anyone in person...
Yes, I did, but it didn't work out though. It never does.
