right, you are right but what I am curious to know is why would a guy behave that way towards his girlfriend if she is able to hear him and have a conversation with him in a calmly respectful manner. while also being considerate about how she gets her thoughts across without unintentionally hurting his feelings by using the wrong words.

Well there's a bit to unpack here. First off, I'm not saying she didn't discuss things calmly with him. But perception is half of it. I mean like I took the counterpoint you didn't fly off the handle and argue with me. So I responded calmly. I take you at your word. But I don't know this guy. Maybe he'easily agitated. Maybe he views getting loud and demonstrative as a demonstration of dominance. In other words I can only guess. And I'm not condoning or excusing it. But how many times has does she and him squabble? Is it over the same things? Are the same points being made. Also how many relationships did he have before her? What were they like. It would be nice to say a new relationship starts with a blank page, and they should. But realistically that seldom happens. In other words, if she did NOTHING to instigate it, or little to instigate it. She might be paying the price of past relationships.
