What causes someone you're dating or somebody you're interested in to pull back?

So let's say you are talking and dating off of a dating website, seems like it's going well and you both are hitting it off, there is good chemistry, then all the sudden out of nowhere your date or the person you are talking to pulls back. What could be the cause of this? could one of the reasons be someone not used to being in healthy relationships or afraid of liking someone too much?

What happened was funny. There was a chick I really hit it off with and out of nowhere she blocked me; had a friend reach out and she said she thought I was a catfish and too perfect (I thought she was too), so instead of verifying if I was a catfish she just blocked me; we laughed about it and started talking again 😅

Different things turn off different people.


Some are afraid of committing, some are too timid, some suddenly realize you don’t fit into their lives (or they don’t fit into yours). I’m such cases, the sooner the “ghost” you or pull back the bigger the favor they’re actually doing you so you can move on.

There could be many reasons. They may have found someone else they're more interested in. Maybe they think you are too clingy, or taking things too fast. Or maybe they're just playing online, and are not interested in anything more.
