It wholly depends on the guy.
Some guys have been too damaged by their previous relationships and aren't ready to date (yet), so it's challenging to try to figure out what they want/need from you in terms of emotional sharing, etc.
Other guys have been on their own and in "single dad" mode for so long that they're not really good with the concept of dating with any long-term intentions or capacities. They're just interested in a short-term companionship... perhaps some healing words from the person they're with.
A single dad who is ready to date will have a noticeably higher EQ... not be in "Peter Pan" (eternally childish) or "Captain Hook" (eternally bitter/vengeful) mode when they meet you.
No. Just like it's not fair for men to date a woman with kids it's not fair to date a man with kids when you don't have any. It just will become messy when things don't work out for the kids.
