Why can't ask girls out anymore unless I find them wife material? Should I try to ask out girls I think less of and maybe I will like them?

My friends think I should go out more with girls and have some "action" like I used to. But now I have no interest and eagerness to date girls I don't consider wife material. I have a very small "pool" now and the very few girls I want to date either have a relationship, are lesbian or they reject me. Should I go out and try with girls I am not particularly into?
