Scared we are moving too fast and I don't want to lose him. Is this normal?

Last night, I went to a wedding with a guy I've been talking to for about a month. We had our first date on Thursday, where we went for sushi, took a walk, and then hung out at my place (Had our first kiss too). He also paid the bill, if that matters. At the wedding, he introduced me to some of his friends and other people he knew. As the night went on, he became more affectionate, kissing my forehead, holding my hands, and kissing me on the lips. During the wedding, he asked if I wanted to go to the beach with him for our third date, and I said yes.

It doesn't feel forced; we both seem to want this. I can see it in his eyes when he looks at me. But because of past experiences, I'm scared we might be moving too fast. I really like him and would prefer to be friends first and then decide later if we want to be in a relationship. But at the same time, I want to kiss him. What do you think? Are we moving too fast, or is this normal?
