Question

85% of marriages end in divorce in my country.

If you look through history, marriages were only successful + the happiest when you had women having kids and raising them while men worked. No one can deny this. Religions approve this 🕎🕉️✝️☪️. It also creates vulnerability as both partners depend on each other.

It’s 85% because of liberalism. Our society will collapse because women aren’t having kids. Women are encouraged to act more and more selfish. It’s brainwashing. You really think women actually want to work?

Nowadays relationships are more toxic than ever. Women acting like men and men acting like women.

Also as men we have more unrealistic standards to chase, to find ourselves a lower quality women 💭🤔 Also women make themselves more unattractive by being ambitious and successful, it’s not what men look for.

Nothing works anymore.

The only thing stopping you from having traditional gender roles in your marriage is capitalism making it so most households can't live on single income, so both spouses need to work. If you make enough money with your own job to afford your wife to have the choice whether she works or not, she could absolutely choose not to work and to stay home and raise your kids instead. You could have a traditional marriage exactly like you want!

The only thing that's changed socially is that now, it's a choice. Every marriage doesn't HAVE to be a traditional marriage, it can be whatever kind of marriage both spouses want. It's not your responsibility to make other people's marriages happy or "successful," so why are you worried about them? Just focus on building a nice traditional marriage for yourself! And let everyone else build their own marriage how they want.

One person's dream marriage could be another person's nightmare, so it's really best that it's now for the most part up to individual choice, don't you think? It would be bad if you were ACTUALLY not allowed to have a traditional marriage, wouldn't it? Just like it would be bad if no one was allowed to have non-traditional marriages.

Truth is, there was never gender roles.

A relationship is two halves of a marriage pie working together, who cares who washes the dishes or cooks the food or if you have children, it was up to you to work together. Yes traditionally the man would take the train to the city then come home late wanting dinner from the wife while the wife took care of the kids and cooked / maintained the house. However does it really matter? No.

I think we as a society are more triggered and more likely to hate on eachother all the time over nothing. It is founded on love, it is two lovers living together and thriving together however they see fit. As time went on, the husband & wife went to work while the kid went to school, perhaps the lady worked shorter hours to be back in time though she could just give the child the spare keys… The point is, it is your life and you do what you want if it works for the both of you. Screw people inserting themselves into your perfect relationship, best wishes to ya.

Everyone can deny this, women use to do labor on farms just like men. Obviously men did the heavy lifting and the women helped, but they worked long hard dirty days just the same up until the industrial revolution. People use to work for themselves on farms. Then all the sudden specific industries got monopolized and centralized and people were forced into cities to work in factories and offices. During this same period the first "property taxes" were adopted (mid 1800s). As a result you couldn't pay your taxes to keep your farm with cheese, cabbages, or beer, you had to have currency. This meant that you either had to sell your goods for currency or men often had to get work off the farm in order to keep the farm.

There's no advantage for a man to be in a marriage without traditional gender roles. He is better off living alone. I've been in both types of marriages and I fully support my wife staying home cooking and cleaning and making my home a beautiful place to be after a days work and she takes a lot of pride in what she does.

Marriages based on anything but the traditional gender roles are mostly doomed to fail, unless the goal is not to set up a family, but solely to find an especially close friend to work on making the world a better place, but in this case, the goal itself would be somewhat logically flawed.

Isn't necessary. Biology will enforce the matter if the population drops low enough. Weakening "gender roles" is just a sign that there are too many people on the planet.

I think there should be more focus on quality rather than quantity. Purging the religious would be a good start.

I wish I could find a man who would allow me to be a housewife. It is nearly impossible to find such a man in my country. In my culture, doctors marry doctors, engineers marry engineers and so on. Many men even specify their preferred income. Our culture is drastically different from the West and we have only 1% marriages that end in divorce. Maybe being so picky about a partner plays a role.
