Do guys get over their first loves?

My boyfriend and I just started dating. He was in a relationship for 6 years and that was his first and only relationship. They broke up a year ago. He has had some flings inbetween but not a girlfriend. I can’t help but worry that he will end up leaving me for her. Thoughts?

My first boyfriend I had was when I was 16 and he was 19. We saw each other almost every day and he called me every day.
He was my first love and I was his.

But in the middle of the third year he started getting physically abusive. So I broke up with him.
Plus he smoked pot everyday.

So, I met a really nice guy and 6 weeks later we got married.

My ex boyfriend called one day right after I got married and my new husband answered the phone and told him that, yes, she and I are married. Broke his heart really bad.💔

He was heartbroken so bad that he moved out of California to Colorado. He got a job there at a nursery working with plants. One day he said he was thinking about me and ran into the glass nursery with the forklift.

He spent three years there then moved back. We talked on the phone years later about it. I asked why he stayed there 3 years and he said because that's how long we were together.

He used to have the florist deliver me a dozen beautiful carnations whenever we used to argue when we were young. I reminded him about that.

The next day at work the florist delivered a dozen carnation flowers to my job. I couldn't believe he did that 😊

First love is someone special for emotional men but only as long as you aren't the better one. Use your experience and physical assets given by mother nature and seduce him

Not true from personal experience. I was better in every way (looks and personality) than my ex boyfriend's obese and abusive ex girlfriend (his first real relationship and they lasted 5 years together) yet although he claimed to be over her he told me he realized he wasn't ready for a relationship

I wouldn't say he's still in love with her but he clearly hasn't moved on from losing his first and long term relationship and self-sabotaged his shot at a happy and healthy relationship

Yes, most guys’ don’t hold on to their first loves like girls’ tend to, once he moves on from his ex and starts dating other Girls’ he is pretty much over his ex, he might still have memories of her but that’s about it. So my advice to you is, if you really like this guy , treat him better than his ex did

Yes, they do. It can take a little while - it's not gonna happen in a couple of weeks - but they almost always do get over it and move on. After a year, I wouldn't worry about it.

I loved her more than life itself at the time. 7 years later I don’t even think of her. People would try to bring her up to me recently. They would talk bad about her, and my reply is always something along the lines of “I really don’t care what she’s doing right now.”

Yes we do. It took me awhile to but man hindsight is a mf. That girl was nothing but red flags and problems, she's in the past.

You'll be fine but if he is still "friends" with her that's a red flag
