I prefer darker skin. My boyfriend is white, but he has dark skin due to being half Guatemalan. I think dark skin is gorgeous and I prefer it over white skin. I’m somewhat dark but I wish I was darker. Sudanese skin is the most beautiful to me. Ultimately skin color isn’t really that important of a factor to me. If I fell in love with an albino, then I’d date them.

Also, the term “dark person” sees another human being only by skin color and nothing about them as a whole human being and their value as such. So would someone categorized solely by skin color be comfortable with someone who only saw them that way? Replace dark with the word pale and does it change the bias?

I am Caucasian, and I have never been attracted to black Americans, primarily because of cultural differences. I have dated Caucasian women, Asians, Hispanics, and American Indian. I have dated a dark skinned Indian girl and I thought she was beautiful. There are some dark skinned Indian, Pakistani, and Bengali users on this site who are quite stunning.

@Caroline91 I don't know how old you are but I did not get into IT until I was almost 40. I think 40 is the cutoff where you can get hired for an entry level position. My career stalled not too long after I turned 50. I interviewed for many jobs and when I talk to people on thr phone they are all excited but when they see how old I am they back off. I graduated from college later in life so if you look at my resume you might think I am younger

@Caroline91 iT is a youth oriented field. My boss now is 12 years younger than me.. I am told I don't look my age but age catches up with all of us. I am not sure what you have to do to open a school and get accredited. I imagine it varies state to state.

True about IT, but in my opinion, if you have an older employee with recent education that's kind of the best of both worlds if the employer can recognizer that. There is nothing to replace life experience and maturity. As for me, I have a couple of mentors who will help guide me through the process. Tbh, it's a lot, but nothing I'm not up to. lol

@Caroline91 You sound pretty motivated. I liked working in education bot as a teacher and an admistrator. I finished college at night and right afterwards I dot int a graduate program and got a Masters, degree. I struggled the whole time but there were a few professors that really helped me. I try to be like that to my students. I ran int one of them at the grocery store. He told me that my course was the last one he needed to graduate and it was the hardest one he had to take. He really said it in a good way and understood that he got a lot more out of it than some of the courses that are intentionally dumbed down to retain students.

I am pretty much always motivated to do the things I really want to do! I have found that if I just keep putting one foot in front of the other that, eventually, I get there. I am nothing, if not persistent, so I eventually get there. BUT right now, nothing comes before being my little ones' mother. That's how I ended up with this goal. When I found out I was pregnant with my first, I dove into studying child development and nutrition. Then after having the baby, I started weighing options for her and chose Montessori as a foundational element for her education. She is almost 5 now and I have had enough time to decide that balancing the needs of my children and actually working/owning a Montessori school is a perfect balance of parenthood and career for me.
