Trending & News I'm not, giggles 🌹🪽✨️

I used to install satellite TV systems, with the last several years doing commercial work. I spent a lot of time climbing fire escapes and being on the roofs of 50 story hotels, among other things. I've been on the roof of every Hyatt hotel in the Bay Area, and of the Federal Building in Sacramento. I got over any fear of heights long ago. But I definitely RESPECT heights.

The roof of the SF Hyatt Regency, with the former spinning restaurant (which wore out and was converted into a non-moving lounge).
Views of the TransAmerica Pyramid and 555 Bush (brown building on the right, the former Bank Of America building, and the building the killer fired from at the beginning of Dirty Harry), the two tallest buildings in SF before the Salesforce Tower was completed, taken from the roof of the Grand Hyatt.
Using a scissor lift to run cables along the 32' tall ceiling of a coffee roasting plant.
Noooooo!
@Caroline91 Yeah, after reading your post, I can see why you wouldn't want my job... LOL.
Very afraid of heights. Above 4 stories and I start to get a compulsive desire to jump. I used to have friends who lived on the 16th story and had their bbq out on the balcony. They just never understood why I wouldn't join them on the balcony. One, I wanted to live and two, I think it would have been terribly rude, as their guest, to leave them with that kind of mess to clean up!
Omg!
I'm terrible with heights, I sometimes find it difficult to even cross a suspension bridge. I like climbing trees though so long as it's not too high
I totally feel you on that!
Thanks for the mho!
Definitely on trees! But you can hug a tree and are surrounded by something other that empty, open space. I spent a lot of time up in trees as a child to avoid my big brother!!
@Caroline91 that's true and you choose how high you go and whether or not you feel safe.
@Horse-girl Hmm good point! Never considered that before.
Well let’s see looking up at the sky used to terrify me and going up on an elevator that is clear so you can see the bottom used to terrify me….
I can climb a ladder without thinking about falling or hurting myself. So I made progress however the fears still here, I grew out of it more than anything else same with other fears of mine.
This makes a lot of sense!
@secret6620 How so? (just curious what you meant, not trying to be rude or insulting or mean)
Just saying that I understand is all. Thanks for the feedback
@secret6620 Didn’t mean to come off rude, was just curious (didn’t realize I already typed that beforehand lol, I never like to come across as mean when it isn’t my intention sorry for being weird)
You’re welcome!

Yes, I have acrophobia, but I've learned to deal with it. When I sense my fear kicking in, I may sure to gold on to something... or someone.
Oh no!
Nope. I'm afraid of widths.
This made me giggle soooo much!!! Ahahaha
Yes. Being afraid of heights is an innate human fear unless you’ve been exposed enough to become comfortable with them
That's a good point!
I used to be fine with heights, but not something I fond of anymore. Not sure if it's one of those use or lose it things in life.
That's totally understandable!
@secret6620
Does throwing myself (solo) out of an aeroplane to do a parachute jump for charity, answer your question? lol
Do it! I'm curious to know the results 🤔 👀 😂
Oh nice! You should do it again! Sounds fun
Well, not really. I’ve overcome that but I have a healthy respect for gravity nonetheless.
I like the way you worded this post. "Healthy respect for gravity" hehehehe
Honestly not at all, and I really like heights.
Me too!
Let's reach heights together then... :0)
Yes I am terrified of heights, but i absolutely love rollercoasters and fair rides, haha. I also do not like ferris wheels at all
I really like roller coasters too!
Not anymore. I used to be, but I overcame that fear.
Same here. At times I can still get anxiety but it's not so bad.
I used to be when I was a kid but not anymore. I faced my fears head on. I made myself not be afraid of heights
Facing your fears is always a good thing
Interesting
Somewhat. I'm afraid of using ladders, but once I'm on a roof, I'm fine.
Me too! All the ladders are not sturdy. They wobble and that's terrifying 😳
Exactly!
Not afraid of heights. Just afraid of the sudden stop if I should fall!
Not sure I follow. A sudden stop?
Oh okay! I don't think it's sudden if you realize you're falling though. Gravity.
As long as it’s no higher than 10 feet, I’m ok.
Oh okay!
Only if I'm on something unstable (like a tall ladder), otherwise, no. I like being up high.
Ladders can be terrifying 😳
no, not really
Same! I am only scared if I believe I will actually die.
No but I don’t like being on something high I don’t feel secure on though
No, I am a climbing girl.
I LOVE climbing. If you lived closer we could go rock climbing at my gym 🏋️♀️ 💪
I can be at times too.
No, just falling from them.
Same!
I get dizzy, vertigo.
I get dizzy too! Sometimes my legs will tremble as well.
That's the worse!!!
Not as much as I am on snakes
Snakes are charming creatures. Lethal and beautiful
IM TERRIFIED!!
Giggles!
No I'm not
Heck yeah!
Take it this way. I've faced BRAIN CANCER and beaten it multiple times. So I've faced worse.
God is good! ALL the time! 🌹✝️✡️
Amen
Yes I am
Totally understandable!
Yes I am.
It can be totally terrifying
I sure am
Not at all.
Fuck yes
A little
