Guys, Is he serious or playing games?

So I am dating a guy and we have been on 7 dates, on date 4 we kissed, since then he continues planning dates, makes me food that he brings to the dates, hugs me tight and in silens, likes kissing me, holds my hand, remembers little things about me

BUT he is not asking if I came home safe, we always text and he ask how am I but we never have phone calls and when I say I am sad he sends me gifs of hugs and suggest me to search for support with my friends in college. I Feel confused. What do you think? Is it too late to judge and he is a person who takes time to open up or is he playing?
