Would you marry someone with herpes type 1 (not genital herpes) ?

If you met someone and discovered they have herpes type 1 the type that are around the mouth. Would you still marry them and have kids with them?

Pretty much everyone that is sexually active already has it. I assume my wife and I both have it, but it's not like we're going to go get tested for it.

I read that in a lot of places when I search but in reality I’ve never seen anyone with herpes in my family or friends or cousins.

I’ve never had mouth warts or blisters so for me it seems scary even when google says almost everyone has it I’ve never seen that.

I was talking to a guy and I noticed blood near his lip and he said it’s heroes and I got scared. We were supposed to be planning a family together and now I’m scared and he said if he had it, it’s likely for our kids to have it too if we have them.

So now I’m thinking if I should just pass or what. I don’t know if I can find anyone else soon.

I've only seen a herpes sore once in my life, but I'm sure most of the people in my life have the virus in their bodies. A vast majority of people never have a noticeable outbreak. If that dude is having outbreaks, that probably means his immune system is trash. I'd worry less about the virus (I bet you already have it) and more about that dude's health, in general.

yes, I see what you mean but the reason for that is that...

having a bacteria or a virus in our system, does not always mean we will develop a "disease" or that we will show symptoms...

for example, most of the population does have that bacteria called Pylori.. but not everyone will suffer a disease from it, and will not show symptoms

same with the herpes simplex virus... most people will have, could have it but they do not necessarily have to develop a disease from it, or symptoms like blisters and stuff

even with AIDS... some people do get infected with the virus, which is called HIV, but developing the disease which is AIDS is a very different story

you probably got it too, and your parents, and you would not even know it

But he says he usually gets it during the winter if he catches a cold he will get mouth blisters.

I get sick often during winter and never get mouth sores.

I’m scared to have a child and for him to have this and other kids single him out because of it and then he will grow up outcasted.
