I agree that the "Reefer Madness" esque posts against Marijuana come across as silly, but my objection to "the Wacky Tobacky" now (of which I partook as younger man often) is that it just wastes too much of my time.
I just usually have too much going on to take up a whole evening getting stoned.
And the older I get, the more I realize that time is running out.
Now if he is about your age (27), then hey, nothing wrong with blowing off some steam after work (or bong smoke, as the case may be). But if it gets in the way of productive things that have to be done...
For me, a potential partner who smoked weed would be anything from a moderate negative to a total deal breaker. It depends on how much and how often they smoked, how they are affected by it, and whether they had control over it.
A daily smoker would be a deal breaker. A weekly smoker would probably be a deal breaker. Less than once a month, or a few times a year, might be OK, depending on how it affects them.
No matter how seldom they smoked, it would be a negative.
Nope unless he’s addicted, no ambition, lazy, wasted all his money on it, starts to dive into other things, etc
I know people on both ends. A guy who does it all the time, and exactly like what I listed above and then another guy who does it a lot but works hard, gyms and eats healthy, he’s got good drive and all that.
So just depends really.
I would never date a guy who smokes weed consistently, it smells disgusting and I do not want my house smelling like weed

Depends on the following:
There is a stereotype that potheads are burn outs, lazy, losers, etc. That can be definitely be true. But I’ve met some who are very hard working and motivated despite that vice. They often choose that over alcohol.
I did MJ edibles for a good 7 years but a moment of clarity 9 months ago where I decided to completely give up THC for the rest of my life. I did so easily too. No withdrawals, no meetings, etc. But i want my brain functioning on all cylinders. I rarely drink either
I still do CBD occasionally (non THC) which calms my body down but doesn’t impact my brain.
As long as he’s productive, you’re good. Some people get so comfortable, nothing feels quite as good as bumming around the house, not even paying bills 😂
but I think that’s a personality thing. I never heard of someone smoking and then years later all of a sudden they became lazy.
So if you want predictability, stay careful around people who aren’t so experienced with it.
It’s like alcohol or any other vice.
If he does it every day, it WILL adversely effect him. He won't be as up to par mentally as someone who doesn't use it. They there are issues with social and emotional function with people who are always intoxicated, etc. I know a guy who uses it and he can barely follow a conversation. His girlfriend uses it multiple times a day everyday, and she is a KOOK.
If he doesn’t smoke it near you and respects the fact you don’t like him doing it so he does it in private, yeah it is fine.
I think it depends on how much weed they smoke and how often, just like with alcohol. Does he just smoke every now and then, or is he a pothead?
that's up to you. personally, i don't smoke weed so i don't really wanna be with someone who does.
It's bad if it makes him lazy and waste a lot of money on it. Smoking will also affect his health negatively.
It depends on what you’re willing to put up with. For me, it’s a dealbreaker. I don’t want to be with someone who does drugs.
His love affair is drugs, and somewhere down the line he might even betray you with someone sexier. Like for example lady coke, or miss heroine.
Stay away!
Well what else is he going to do, jump straight to miss heroin?
@Tchaikovsky420 There is a very good chance, yes. Just look at the statistics. Statistics are facts not opinions.
It all depends, if he's a responsible smoker that doesn't make it his life and doesn't spend all his money or get in trouble with it no. Nothing wrong with it compared to alcohol
i think it is, simply because it reduces discipline. i never preferred being in areas where people smoked, it amde me super anxious and it felt unnecessary to be fair. anything that kills your brain cells or slows you down must be avoided.
Better than smoking tobacco or boxed cigarettes.
Unless you smoke weed too.
I'm not touching that stuff.
No, not bad. Everyone seems to have a vice of some kind. The thing to ask is if he abuses it. Always using it, etc.
Are you comfortable with it for me I won't want a girl that smokes at all cause i am not comfortable with it are you?
Entirely up to you if you think it affects anything. Most people don't care.
As long as he's got his life together it's fine, better than drinking.
I would prefer that any girlfriend of mine would be smoke free on any substance.
Give it 5 years and he will be sucking cock for crack.
Ok, richard nixon
Does he work, have a job? Does he pay bills? If not them it may be a problem.
I will not even associate with any dumbass who takes weed; i don't care what his/her personality.
Alcohol is also a drug so what’s the difference?
Is it bad too get with a women who likes beer or wine!!!
According to me, yes
Yeah it'll kill his sperm count
In small doses it is fine.
How is he doing at managing his life?
Not if he shares.
It's bad to me. It smells bad.
Fine! Better that than alcohol!!
That depends on your morals and values
Not at all. It's fine.
No, it's good.
I wouldn't date someone that smokes weed.
It depends. Probably not.
I dont care that he smokes weed
Yes of course. İts so bad
Yes I don't like it
Yes it is.
Okay prude
@Kingofkings1992 That's not a correct use of that word.
Nope.
