I've been on three dates with a woman I met on Match. com. I can only contact her through the website's messaging system, as she hasn't shared her phone number with me, even though I gave her my phone number.

I would understand it if it was a  first  date and she just wanted to be cautious since she's meeting someone from online. But she's already gone on  three  dates with you and still not giving you her number... I would imagine that's because she's hiding something and doesn't want you getting other info about her from her number. You can see details from a person in your contacts on other apps/platforms, assuming they don't keep everything blank. And that's probably what she is hiding. Which is what she could do with you when you gave her your number. If she wouldn't give you hers then you're not obligated to give yours either.  "Would you date someone who won't give you their phone number?" - Not entirely sure how to answer it, but what I can say is that it would make me uncomfortable to a degree.

And does she always meet you at the date site and you don't know where she lives? Do you know her full name? Have you seen the car she drives or does she arrive in an Uber/Lyft?

There are three possible explanations:

1. She is married or living with someone and needs to maintain absolute privacy at home.

2. She has had a stalker/assailant in the past, has not resolved that trauma, and is being hypervigilant.

3. She is simply paranoid and suspicious of everyone and has great difficulty establishing trust.

No I wouldn’t. Why are they hiding their phone number if you’ve been out 3 times already? Have you ASKED her for her number since you’ve started dating? (Don’t ask her to put it on the app. Ask her for it when you’re in person. I personally wouldn’t put my number on an app-related chat, only on a direct email or other secure mode of communication.)

How else can you contact her, if you don't have her number? She could vanish on that site one day and never see her again.

You will determine if a woman's seriousness once she gives you her number. At least get a messaging app where you both can call/contact each other.

I did a lot of dating on Match and this never happened to me. Mostly I got a number before the first data so we could communicate if one of us had to cancel. Is she just unreasonably afraid of meeting men online? By now she should know you well enough to trust you with her phone number.

I'd probably be fine with it. There's so many ways to message these days that you don't even need to give people your phone number to communicate with them.
