Why do single Mums think it is acceptable for them to criticize us men to not wanting to date them?

is it because of feminism which i think that it is or just bitterness or them kicking themselves for going off with bad guys or them being entitled and believing they are allowed to be shitty people when they are young and be let off of that. Women will react with mocking and anger if men criticize their preferences.

I think they thought life was going to be a bed of roses when it came to dating. Men used to be so easy but not anymore. Men have wised up and don't play games like they did in the past. Men have developed standards and stick to them and no longer pursue women they deem unworthy. Women get one chance and that's it. Last I read there are seven women for every guy, men can afford to be picky and demand a higher quality choice for a partner. Many women think they're entitled for whatever reason but their not, not even close to it. Men no longer indulge in women's attitudes towards them and will not not tolerate the entitlement attitude of women who bring nothing to the table but expect everything just because they think more of themselves then the men who meet them do. They can criticize all they want for all the good it'll do them, times have changed and they need to change with the times, or they can live alone with their cat IMHO

Well, people can have their opinions on anything, but I think what you're referring to is the entitlement mentality that some single mothers have (it's not unique to them to have an entitlement mentality) that men are supposed to take care of them even if they aren't the father (s) of their children.

At the end of the day, we know there are always going to be people who criticize others, no matter how ridiculous the criticism is. And it's ridiculous to expect guys to date you when you have some other man's kid (s) at home with you.

This hasn’t been my experience but I’ll absolutely and freely admit that, being 50, means I’m over the generational hump and therefore have no experience with the current dating scene (which usually means 20s - early 30s).


I know a few single mothers in my orbit, either through work or personal life. The large balance of them seem to be far more focused on improving their own quality of life for themselves and their children, and view dating as a secondary priority at best. They seem to me more concerned about being selective of the types of men they allow in their lives, and by extension their children (s) too. If a man doesn’t want to date a single mom, they sure don’t want to date him anyhow. Mind you, this is my limited anecdotal experience however.


I think, this phenomenon, tells me something as much about men as women. This culture of young men who carry some bitterness about women and have touted this MGTOW / Incel mindset seem set on punishing women for some reason. So, some young woman picked made a poor decision and had a kid with someone who turned out to be toxic. Who cares? Maybe she’s better for the experience. Heck man, I can think of just as many young men paying child-support and struggling to keep their sanity over toxic women too. Crazy is not a gender specific issue.

Third Wave Feminism is an absolutely toxic to women and society as a whole. I’m no friend it and even my compatibility with my wife was highly dependent on her strong anti-feminist views.

As I said, at my level in the game it’s not something I’ve had to contend with, quite fortunately. Also, what you call the white knight award I’d simply call well mannered so I gladly accept. I’m far too aware of the reality of life which is issues are complex as are people. Not many things in life are a hard absolute of only two options. Everyone has a preference and some men don’t want to deal with other people kids if that makes sense. I feel that you shouldn’t get criticized or judged for not wanting to date a single mother as some woman don’t want to date a single father.

I feel like some single mothers want that validation of being able to get whoever they want regardless if they have kids or not. Some single mothers believe that any man should step up for them when that’s not the case. So they criticize or judge others for not wanting to date them in order to make themselves feel better.

Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with dating single mothers or fathers but everyone has a preference. So don’t let anyone change how you feel.

It takes 2 people to have a relationship and 2 people to have children. If a relationship ends, there are still 2 parents left. A single mum OR DAD is entitled to a relationship, but they aren’t asking you to bring up their kids! You’re dating the person. Kids aren’t included until things are serious. Some people can’t get their head round that. Single patents aren’t desperate, and they don’t need a grown up kid to look after. They want a functioning adult to make their already happy lives better.

I guess it goes to both sides. As a woman, I prefer not to date men who have kids. It should not be an issue.
Being in a relationship with someone has its own challenges and if one of those sides or both have their own kids, then it adds to those issues.
