Does she respond to you right away or within a reasonable amount of time? If so she more than likely likes hearing from you first , if she isn’t responding back right away and leaves ya hanging , she might just like the convenience of you , but next time you see her , just tease her about it , and say hey you know the phone works both ways , do you need my help on how to send a text or make a phone call first? And smile at her to let her know you are teasing her. She might assume if she texts you first that you will feel like she is bothering you , which sadly most girls’ assume the worst case scenario s when they really like a guy lol

If you want to have her communicate more with you, you have two options:

1. Tell her you like receiving texts from her, and wish there were more, or

2. Continue to text her... more often, which seems to trigger her to respond

Asking for texts to be initiated is normal, and it is reasonable to want your girlfriend to initiate texts.

She may have had previous relationships where a guy told her she texted him too much and wants to have you text her first to not seem needy. Some people prefer video call or phone calls. Some are fine going off the radar completely until the next in person time date. Everyone is different and has their limit of social -ness in relationships. Can even differ from each guy she's with.
